European Super League Super Thread

It would be fairly class if they ran it like the NFL but with promotion and relegation with a regular season and then one off or two legged playoffs as a casual fan

They’d obviously fill it with meaningless games though

UEFA are doing a great BDO impression. We knocked a good decade of craic out of the darts split. We could knock a whole lifetime out of a football split.

Leave the leagues alone and stop so many teams from certain leagues getting CL spots. That way then teams like Celtic, Ajax, Porto and the likes could hang onto their better players for a bit longer.

That wouldn’t stop players leaving those clubs

Yes it would.

How?

It seems the oil money clubs like psg and Man City were warned by fifa not to get involved for obvious reasons…

It’s fairly clear only truly global clubs have been invited so far.

There’s one obvious reason why psg and Man City won’t get involved…

What’s that?

Munich?

Amusing to see the Premier League condemn a breakaway league.

The whole idea is ridiculous. The concept of Europe’s top clubs playing each other in a continuous league format would become very tiresome quite quickly. The Champions League is perfect as is. The powers that be should concentrate on creating more open leagues across Europe with less domination.

Gary Neville having a Fanny fart here on Sky Sports

There’s some irony and hypocrisy in Sky fuming about this.

‘The Champions League is perfect as it is’?

I presume the America interest in united, pool and arsenal hate the idea of relegation and don’t really understand the concept.
