yeah but FIFA isn’t another confederation, it is all the confederations. They aren’t competing financially with UEFA because UEFA fall under their jurisdiction. It’s absurd to think otherwise.
I think they’ve been terribly advised. The whole of Europe seems to hate the idea, especially the supporters of the clubs, and I’ve yet to hear a serious argument in favour of it. I think there will be a serious backlash against it from all angles and I think this backlash will stick.

UEFA v the rest of the world. Europe hoovers up all the world’s best players. I think FIFA fancy a World League including existing clubs like Boca, River, Flamengo etc., and new franchises from other parts of the world, especially the “big markets” of the US, China, maybe India, and maybe a couple of African franchises.
the clubs owners have done that anyway. Twon’t be long until Liverpool are based out of Fenway and City are playing above in a desert somewhere
