Eurovision 2024 - Malmo Money Malmo Problems

Netherlands are gone they’ve been DQ’d. My oh my what a mess - this is first time any performer was ever expelled.

Israel were due to come on directly after the Netherlands. If the booing at last night’s show is anything to go by there will be serious booing for the Israeli participant especially as the rumours suggest it was their actions which got Joost Klein disqualified.

The glaring discrepancy between the Netherlands being thrown out and Israel being left in is a terrible look for the competition and the EBU and could even put the future of the competition under threat.

Never underestimate the ability of lads on tfk to adopt entrenched positions on absolutely any topic and often within minutes.

The Eurovision Song Contest no less.

Rachel Moiselle’s execrable article in the rag which is the Jewish Chronicle yesterday the latest example of wolf crying.

Full of faux emotional hot air and bluster and extremely short on detail.

Of course none of this is political. It’s purely about the music. At least there are a couple of posters on this forum that say so.

The headbangers are gonna try to get Israel over the line
Priceless :joy::joy:

@TheUlteriorMotive and @Tim_Riggins are going to be very busy come 10 o’clock tonight.

You think that’s quite a stupid post because there your response everytime you’re stumped.

You are here accusing Jews in Ireland of being part of a conspiracy, anti semitic tropes abound.

You have played silly buggers over the idea of an increase in anti semitisim post October 7th.

Did you miss the trampling on the faces of victims outside of the Israeli embassy by some protestors on October 9th?
The chants of “from the river to the sea” on that day?
The fact that security had to be increased across all Jewish and Israeli sites in Ireland?

Yet here you are demanding a laundry list of anti semitism and referencing the IHRA. I’m asking you to reference what parts of the IHRA you have an issue with and how this dovetails in your conspiracy claims?

Sounds like the Dutch lad assaulted either a security guard or an EBU staff member. Just posting some facts in here for a change

I didn’t hear their song. Is it heavy metal?

Female pop bopper type shite. Very much upper middle of the road in a normal year.

I wonder will there be any voluntary withdrawals yet in support of the Netherlands. Yesterday Spain issued a statement that if Joost wasn’t reinstated they’d withdraw, but radio silence so far from Spain today and we’re less than four hours to show time. I would say anything could still happen yet. Spain being 2/1 favs for last place would really shake up that market if they withdraw, although I think there is still enough of an audience to award this enough to stay off bottom. I think a trio of Slovenia 25/1, Austria 33/1 and Norway 50/1 for last is a good play, maybe a saver on Luxembourg 9/2 also.

Switzerland and Greece have joined Ireland in taking official umbrage to something Israel broadcaster said or did publicly which is supposed to contravene Eurovision rules whatever it was. It would be delicious if Israel were turfed out yet but very unlikely. This has been a mad 24hrs for the Eurovision.

You’ll have to make up your mind whether it’s “facts” or “sounds like” because it can’t be both.
