What is Bambi Thug’s complaint against the Israeli broadcaster?

:joy: :joy: :joy:

Yes- Jews have an obvious issue with the chant. This is on record.

Chaps like yourself make excuses for it, as your default is to deny any unsavoury element in the pro Palestinian movement.

Again, please reference the specific parts of the IHRA and how it doesn’t count with regards to the rise of anti semitism in Ireland and in Europe?

More use of vile tropes

Or are they pretending to?

Likud’s founding charter:

“Between the sea and the Jordan there will only be Israeli sovereignty.”

Jaysus there’s some stink of racist desperation off you.

Jews have a problem with the chant eh? All of them? Are Jews a monolith. Of course not on both counts. Quite an antisemitic sentiment from you there, if you don’t mind my saying. I’m sure you didn’t mean it but you should be more careful.

From memory I think it’s seven of the eleven examples appended to the IHRA definition relate to Israel and conflate criticism of Israel with antisemitism. If you any semblance of a clue you’d be aware of this.

Yes there are massive racists and nutters in Israel, including Netenyahu.

I think the key point of people objecting to that phrase, or the use of the word intifada, is they’re attributing a meaning that is not what the people using it intend. It’s just disingenuous.

Yea, polls have consistently shown this. Here’s one just last week on the student protests.

How do you feel on similar rhetoric from certain Israelis?

Again, on the IHRA, reference the parts in relation to Ireland. You demand specifics, but won’t bring them up yourself.

It is bizarre that someone like yourself is unable to admit anything less than brilliant about Pro Palestinian protests. When this verges into certain tropes like you’ve used, you start to wonder.

Excuses excuses

If you were actually solutions orientated, you’d stop to ask how such a chant that triggers so many is in anyway productive.

You don’t though, because you aren’t interested in that.

Claiming Netanyahu is the problem is a nice sleight of hand. The problem is the views of Netanyahu and Ben Gvir towards Palestinians are broadly representative of Israeli society. Israel is a supremacist society, ie. as a society they consider Palestinians to be sub-human.

Someone being triggered means something is hateful? That doesn’t sound like your usual rhetoric.

The parts of the definition that relate to Ireland? Huh? You sound confused. The parts of the definition that are problematic are the examples that relate to Israel that conflate criticism of Israel with antisemitism. That’s a pretty simple and basic concept.

People don’t have a right not to be triggered. It’s remarkable how the self styled “pro-free speech” mob suddenly become ultra-censorious when it comes to anything to do with Israel.

Israel has been surrounded since its inception by countries who use overly anti semitic language and / or have physically attempted to wipe it off the map. Indeed many of the Jews who ended up in Israel

It is quite clear why this chant would be an issue for Jewish people, and why this is consistently reflected in the responses from that community to it.

As I said, completely unproductive.

But that’s not what you are here for. You are still here denying that there has been an increase in anti semitism since October 7th. Go ahead and quote the items you don’t like with reference to the uptick in intimidate and general anti semitism Irish Jews have quoted as feelings, and maybe this time don’t use certain tropes while you do?

Funny how a political candidate in Ireland can still be able to stand after a tweet like this on the day of the October 7th attacks.

Not only running for office, but front and centre at many of the protests.

Arse admits voting 20 times :joy: :joy: :joy:

The Israeli song was genuinely popular with the Irish public, and also it was the heartfelt, genuinely held opinion of worldwide readers of Time magazine that Ronnie O’Brien was the outstanding person of the 20th century.

No, the UK’s entry really was that shite.

I was looking at the breakdown of the Ireland televote results - we gave 10pts to Israel. There definitely aren’t many Jews living here and also Ireland has been maybe the most vocally critical of Israel the last 12 months, so that does suggest a quite sophisticated bloc voting plan was put in place by Israel, probably using loads and loads of burner SIM cards. It wouldn’t cost a lot to buy close to 400pts around Europe on the televote. I suppose 5 million euro could do it and that would be small money to Israel to get the good publicity of a Eurovision win watched by a billion people.
