Most people nowadays would hardly know what a palatine was. And if you are from around here thereās a fair chance thereās a drop of palatine in you anyway. Although Iām sure thereās still some farmer somewhere nursing a few centuries old grievance.

Never stopped the nordies
Where did shorten and ruttle come from? They are everywhere around rathkeale but nowhere else. A lot of them involved in metal work and machinery as well.
There are Ruttles in South Tipp as well.
Theyāre a shower of Tipp cunts though.

Ruttle / Ruddle is a palatine name
Sparling would be a common Palatine name around Adare and surrounding areas.

The Palatines were kicked out of Germany by the Catholics. They brought apple tart to Ireland.

There was a fella from NCW called Jimmy āChopsā Sparling, a drummer
The gated entrance to the village in that image reminds me of Villierstown, Co Waterford. Lovely part of the Blackwater valley around there.

I could have the band wrong, who were the crowd that Brendan Guerin was in?
Edit: it was Rock The Joint.
Rock The Joint were the Mad For Road of the late 90s
Could any of these Palatines hurl at all?
