I remember when a fella said to me that unnamed hurler got in trouble for a bit of an altercation, I took it to mean it happened outside his house and thought that sounded pretty suspect.
Ah the Dublin one is an older age group. A real haunt for the cougars. A Random place.
Too expensive for the limk market Iâd say. Scandalous pricing, rediculous
Was in there after the limk Cork match as only place of the 2 or 3 places still open after midnight that would let us in. Know the lads that own it. Very young crowd in there, late teen/early 20s sort of scene.
Worth every cent. Saying that buying chips is a waste unless you are sharing. A pal of mine ordered a large fries in the states for himself. 4 wouldnt finish it on top of the burger
138 in a 50 zone is madnessâ:grimacing:
If buying for yourself maybe. Try taking a couple of kids with you. A weekâs worth of groceries for a few burgers chips and drink
I actually do like Crew. They mightnât like me.
I will never set foot in that dump again as long as I live after the farce I experienced in there during Covid.
We were out for a work drinks in town, it was November 2021. You still had restrictions of a sort in place. We left The Locke wondering where to go next. One of the girls suggest Nancys - âthey have bop til you drop on their Facebook page for tonightâ. We went in, only to soon discover that not only were we not permitted to âbop til we droppedâ in the open courtyard (the place was 90% empty), but you werenât even allowed dance at your table. We were scalded by a manager telling us âthereâs no dancing in this establishmentâ. We actually showed him the Facebook post they had up. Just shrugged his shoulders and walked off. Iâd have been embarrassed to be running that dump!
Iâd say youâre a great jiver.
You wouldnât get a look in with him on the dance floor in the woodlands on a Sunday evening Iâd say
It was rammed the last night in fairness to it, hasnât changed in 20 years.
You got 17 likes when you first told that story. It was one of the highlights of those grim Covid times - one manâs desire to bop foiled by Holohanâs Gestapo. Akin to Gerard Kean and Lisa Murphy providing the gaiety that got us through the Global Financial Crisis.
Limerick city has suffered massively from having the University 8 miles out of town. UL buying the Dunnes premises should help in time but there seems to be little enough going on in there.
Watching the president of UL explaining that purchase in front of a dail committee recently was excruciating
Anyone recommend someone near the city centre to entertain a toddler for the afternoon? I see thereâs an adventure centre in Corbally
If the planners in Limerick had set out to fuck over the city, they couldnât have done a better job. Despite them, the place is going okay.
People ask for good anchor tennants and decent parking in town, they give us a rugby museum and a makeover where nothing really was wrong. Its a massive two fingers to rate payers in there as well.
The job for Limerick is to give the people who have the Crescent a few hundred million to fuck off, put good housing and recreation facilities on it, and recreate what they have in the crescent in that stupid fucking opera centre, buy up a heap of stuff around for free parking.
The character inside those buildings is all gone anyway, keep the facades. Whole thing would cost billions and will never happen.
UL is its own thing now and thriving, too important in terms of employment to fuck around with.
Just to add, this thing of âretail is deadâ is wrong. The Crescent is thronged every time Ive ever been there. If you have what people want, they wonât go by you.
Kids town will be jammers with parties on Saturday afternoon
Check out the Crinniu na nog schedule, thereâs some Lego things etc going on around town
The roads situation is fucked round ul though. They need a direct feed to sub roundabout at annacotty as has been proposed for many years now but blocked by greens.
Adding more industry round vistakon only makes it worse, not to mention to 600+ housing units being built behind supervalu
Thatâs something to address alright, the prob with thecampus in town for me though is that the young lads will surely want to be on main camlus with their pals. Maybe the campus in town could be for the postgrads and conversion courses. I dunno, traffic out there is dire indeed, but there is a great buzz about the general area, same in LIT and Mary I. The city would be bollixed without them.
