Anyone queuing to get into a bar needs their head examined. Nancys famous for it. Packed in like sardines. Iâve had good Sunday nights out there to be fair years ago. But not been there in a long time and most likely too old for it now anyhow. Some nicer spots to go these days for a few beers.
Retail moved to the Crescent because the city council rates are ridiculously expensive. The crescent was outside the city and paying lower rates to the county council. I know one business in the city centre off OâConnell St and they pay âŹ30,000 a year in rates alone. If the council reduced rates and made parking free theyâd full the city centre again, but theyâre too fucking stupid and greedy to do either.
I was in the Wickham way market a couple of times in the last two days, the food offerings at the moment are absolutely top class
Pizza as ever is amazing, as good as it gets
The street food people are doing gyozas this month with skinny chips and Japanese seasoning, come with a selection of dips, as good as Iâve ever had, I tried the duck and the chicken.
Thereâs a new dosa stall as well, absolutely unbelievable
If youâre around town while itâs open donât miss it
A bit of a shock for him, Iâm biased but the man works 7 days a week. His phone never stops. Disagree with his views all you went, itâs a democracy so thatâs fine, but you canât question the mans work ethic.
Glad heâs on the mend. About time he put himself and his family first and not everyone else.
Does it get many customers floating through there? Only wandered through there once as a shortcut to Patsyâs, hadnât even heard about it. Was impressed but even when I ask pals somewhere decent eat, none have ever offered it up even as an option.
