Faldo's DIY General thread

Plus the fact that there isn’t a whole pile of other places in a room where a rad can be put ‘effectively’. You can still access the window. But elsewhere in a room you’d be blocking it with the bed, or chest of drawers or wardrobe or banging it with the door.

Anyone recommend a power hose

Ya they are a mighty job

I wouldn’t as all they do is root out holes for weeds to grow on.

I rarely use mine now.

I’ve a Nilfisk 180. Couldn’t fault her.

Woodies.€300.00.

Advice needed.

Going to clear some moss/algae from tarmac and have been equally advised of the two most effective methods:

  1. Salt, like gritting salt, spread evenly and liberally in dry weather.
  2. White vinegar/water in a 50/50 mix.

Which would be most effective?

Washing powder.Buy the cheap stuff from Aldi/Lidl and put it out there for a few days. Its a bit dry at the minute.Wait for a wet week. Then powerhose.

I’d never have thought of that:clap::clap:

Tried that before and it didn’t really work. I’m reluctant to powerwash the tarmac anyway as the yoke I have is like a cannon and damaged it the last time I did it.

Apply this stuff with a watering can

Brush it off when it turns brown.

Apply more of it at a weaker concentration to the drive in 6 months to help prevent moss re growing next winter.
