Is there any water in the system?
Looks like the pumps are on (you can feel them vibrate with your hand) but they’re not pumping anything.

I know this is a wire joiner/connector of some sort but what would be the exact name for this type?

The pressure/booster pump was goosed - bearings gone according to the plumber.

Four figures to swap it out along with a service for the air to water system.

It will be beans and toast for the wife and kids for the month

Ashutosh will earn it this month

That’s a strange overflow from the cistern.

Not exactly my forte. You need a DIY enthusiast like @Rocko to offer an explanation.

This will be good….

I have a couple of gravity fed showers in my house…both have lost power completely this morning

Below shows the relevant (I am assuming) switch has tripped in the fuse box…when I put it back up it won’t stay there

How would I check if the fuse is blown…how do you change it? Can’t even see how id screw off that area

The gravity fed shower we have has plug in the attic for the pump. Could you isolate one and unplug it, try turn the other one on. Vice versa.

Could be just one of the two causing issue

We need clarification. If the showers are gravity fed, then there’s no pump. In that case the RCBO tripped above is controlling an immersion heater in a cylinder that’s feeding hot water to both showers.

If that’s the case, your immersion heater is gone faulty and needs to be replaced by a plumber.

There is hot water in rest of taps but maybe that’s from last night…will keep an eye on it. Immersion element was changed relatively recently (within past 18 months) and now connected to an Eddi…if that would make any difference

Well, that’s a 40 Amp RCBO so it’s driving something big, typically an electric shower.
Perhaps it was repurposed to drive a immersion and pumps on your system.
We just don’t know dude…

I have an electric shower which is still working

My main q which I still don’t know is it is possible to check if it’s just a fuse blown in the box that might be replaced.

It seems like I’m gonna have to

What box?

That’s an 40A RCBO.
It’s either tripped because there’s something pulling more than 40 amps. Basically a short. Or there is more than 30mA leakage to earth.

So it’s most likely earth leakage. The main causes of earth leakage in the home is heating elements and motors.

So there’s something connected to that RCBO that’s gone faulty.

The RCBO if not driving a single unit could be driving a bank of MCBs (beside it). So you could try flicking off any number of MCBs and see then if the RCBO will reset. Again pick things with motors and heating elements first.

Having a fuse box labelled is always a good idea.

Do it.

You won’t fix that problem with DIY.

I’d suggest abandoning the house altogether and moving into a hotel for the week.
It’s a powder keg waiting for the ignition spark. Check the house insurance as well……
