Prove us wrong
Ah come on Mac, thought you were a massive Defy Logic fan.
Beat Don Cossack aswell and Glen’s Melody is a fair mare in her own right.
I think she is going to be very very special.
I was a massive Defy Logic fan but dont know what to think after the weekend. And he was awful that day against her. Beating Don Cossack over hurdles doesn’t scream superstar to me.
As I said she could turn out to be a super star and could be champion hurdle favourite on Saturday evening but with whats presented in front of me on Saturday I’d prefer to back Zarkandar.

But your point was that she hadn’t beaten much. Think it’s very fair to say that’s nonsense.
I fully believe she is going to the very top. Prices for Saturday are right imo.
Has she even raced against a graded winner ?

Beaten a grade 1 winner out of sight

I dont think she has beaten much. I don’t think its nonsense. I’ll be the first on here to admit i was wrong if she bolts up.

What happens on Saturday is irrelevant to who she has beaten before now.
We’ll have to agree to disagree but my gut feeling is you didn’t think it through before posting that she had beaten nothing and you now have to stick with this line of argument

I thought it through as I had to look back at what she had beaten earlier as I was trying to understand why she has been so hyped up this week. I knew she was good last year but was wondering what was justifying why she’s favourite for a race ahead of a horse who’s only ever been beaten in 2 champion hurdles (1 while sick) and when he fell at Aintree.
Zarkandar is a certified 167 horse whose form stands up to the strictest scrutiny.
Annie Power has a rating of 155 off the back off winning a Grade 1 mares race beating the 142 rated Glens Melody 12 lengths.
Their form is worlds apart at this point in time.
Annie Power is priced up purely on reputation/hype. Her form tells you that, and even allowing for receiving 11 pounds from Zarkandar, there is no way that she should be a lower price.

Fair enough. No doubt the Ruby effect is factored into the prices
But I feel if Ruby didn’t think the mare would beat Zarkander, then willie wouldn’t be sending her over

Or maybe Rich Ricci told Willie to send her over?

Ah Annie hasn’t near reached her potential. I’m sure timeform have a p beside her rating !!
She’s the new Dawn Run

I have it on good authority that Willie is the boss FP and he decides who goes where and when

Absolutely,
And horses cannot achieve high ratings until they run and beat high rated horses. This is a proper test for her. One thing for sure, she will be going at a much quicker pace than hitherto and it will be interesting to see what she finds if she has to battle the very tough Zarkandar.
I dont think its a question of lads having to hold their hands up and say they were wrong if she wins easy on saturday. Point mac, Kc and others are making is that on all known form, the market is wrong.

I do think it’s no coincidence that Willie plans on sending more horses over now that he’ll have Ruby on board. He’ll know a lot of the good horses in other stables and what tracks suit horses etc. Invaluable for Willie.
FP, I questioned @Mac and @Kid Chocolate’s assertion that Annie had beaten nothing thus far. To me that’s a ridiculous point of view.
Nothing compared to zarkander FFS ! She’s obviously useful
Willie is at the peak of his power and now has ruby 100% for a few years. He told Ricci no when he was pushed to be personal trainer and has the owners with deep pockets in his hand. If he can replace the fly (seems to hace plenty options) and get another sdc (less options) to challenge 3m 2 he has at least another 5 years of it.
I suspect pont Alexander could well be as good as SDC, wouldn’t rule put Boston bob either
Boston Bob was a fence from winning in Cheltenham last year. Decent horse, underrated for me
