FIFA World Cup 2010 - Group Stage

They have the exact same conversation after every single game involving an Italian club or the Italian national team.

Apres Match was fucking shocking, again.

It’s been fairly poor. Same old routines. Not cringeworthy yet but it may well get there. Incidently I hear their live show is very good.

Today Rob Green trained for 3 straight hours - a total of 4,000 shots were fired at him and BBC Sport report that he did not concede a single goal. They have also confirmed that Green and Emile Heskey will train with the rest of the England squad tomorrow.

:stuck_out_tongue:

just back in my hotel room after clocking up the air miles to see my country in the world cup- great buzz about the place , the paraguayans were sound & yes those horns are louder & more annoying in person :stuck_out_tongue: - overall it was a masterful italian performace - power & skill combined . wouldnt be surprised to see this match repeated in the final -also DDR is by far the best player in the world at the moment-

DDR mastered the space quite superbly alright…Thought Montilivo showed some decent ability when it comes to passing the ball but didn’t thrust himself on the game enough…

Totti’s presence and leadership is sadly lacking, but that was always going to be the case

yes- agree with all that- fine post again

Will you stick around for the other group games, NCC? Any chance you’d bring me back a vuvuzela??

probably & yes

Beckenbauer sticking the boot into England today.

“What I saw from the English in their 1-1 draw against the United States had very little to do with football. It looked to me as if the English have gone backwards into the bad old times of kick and rush. I am not sure if the England coach Fabio Capello can still change much there. The English are being punished for the fact that there are very few English players in the Premier League clubs as they use better foreign players from all over the world.”

There’s some truth in both parts of that I reckon. Italian league last season had the most successful pass completion rate and the fewest number of long balls of the major European leagues. The EPL was at the other end of the spectrum - highest number of long balls and lowest pass completion record.

English players, and a fair chunk of the English league in general, just don’t seem comfortable in keeping possession and in using it meaningfully.

Slovkia @ 1/2 = Free Money?

That Weiss kid is Slovakian isnt he? Expected big things from him at Manchester City, think he could really spark in this tournament. He looked the real deal from the glimpses I’ve seen of him in the past. Pile on Runt, NZ are pants.

Done.
:pint:

I’m looking forward to seeing Chris Killen showcase his ability on the world stage.

Powers have SLovakia to win to nil at 11/10. Thats the value bet for me. NZ are rubbish, the only reason they qualified is that Australia chose to play is an Asian qualifying group rather than Oceania. Thay struggled past Bahrain 1-0 in a play off to get to the finals.

I might have a cut off that although I have a large portion of my world cup bankroll on the straight win

Just posted about this on the Beat the Bookies. I think this is the best value of the tournament so far. NZ are really poor, Slovakia aren’t bad at all. I see goals in their side too and think Weiss could do very well.
