Di Maria is an out and out left winger though it could be a 4-2-3-1 something like:

Yeah might be that. Heinze will be solid enuogh on the left behind Di Maria but Gutierrez and Tevez would need help from Veron or Mascherano. Mascherano has done something similar for Liverpool a few times where he’s been asked to play centrally but cover wide so that would make some sense.
Diego seems to have rowed back on the four centre backs strategy anyway.
