The first of the FIFA Inter-Confederation Play-offs get underway today at 3 p.m. when Jordan take on Uruguay in Amman. The countries previously met at the 2007 Under-20 World Cup, with Edison Cavani scoring the goal in a 1-0 win for the Uruguayans.

Meanwhile, at 8.30 p.m. Mexico host New Zealand at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

I’m have to admit, I’m a bit disappointed with these Jordanians, mickee, I thought at least one of them would have hacked Suarez in the neck with a sword by now…I’ve seen more vociferous crowds at Terryland Park.
Loderio has just put Uruguay 3-0 up on 69 mins after first half goals from Maxi Pereira and Christian Stuani. Qualification assured for the Uruguayans now. Mickee, do you know what’s the story behind Jordan dropping their one of their best players, Amer Deeb for this game?

Some fucking correspondent-you’re about as much use as tits on a bull mickee.
I have a very slight fancy for New Zealand over the two legs against Mexico. They will of course need to keep things tight tonight, but Mexico look like a team in turmoil.
Their coach Miguel Herrera was only appointed in mid-October, after Mexico’s failure to qualify automatically from their CONCACAF group, and was their fourth change of coach in 6 weeks. He has taken a huge gamble by not including any of Mexico’s European based players in his squad , while naming a host of players from Club America, who he guided to the Mexican National Championship last season. Oribe Peralta will be partnered up front by either Raul Jimenez or Aldo de Nigris. Between them, they have scored 22 goals for Mexico, well shy of Javier Henandez with 35.
New Zealand will still face a huge task to get anything from the Azteca and they’ve suffered a big blow with the loss of their captain, West ham defender, Winston Reid, through injury. I wouldn’t be having a punt on tonight’s game, Mexico are 1/6, draw 11/2 and NZ 16/1 (PP). I’ve been trying to find odds on NZ over the two legs but can’t seem to find them online, maybe some of our betting experts could help out here.
Think he wanted players who were accustomed to playing at the altitude of the Azteca. There’s not too many of them really, Hernandez, Dos Santos, Guardado, two or three others. It’s still a radical move to leave out your top scorer but would be very surprised if he wasn’t in the World Cup squad
Looks like they’ll be there now anyway, 2-0 up at half time, Jimenez with the second.

is that yer man amer deeb who plays with Al Ittiad in Saudi Arabia?
he was the fella who had a stormer against Uzbekistan there in the asian playoffs, as far as I know he had a row with the coach, it’s a similar situation really to the Iranian representation at the world weightlifting championships in Poland a few weeks back, their best man fell out with the coach and it cost them a medal
TBH i took @dancarter 's advice and fell asleep immediately when i got home from work as the little bollix was also out cold as well, hence my lack of replys
I watched a bit of the second half and ah shur jesus Jordan were way off the pace, they just have never seen a game played at that speed before, the space given to the uruguayian for the second goal in particular was criminal but what can you do, they are used to playing football at a lot slower pace and less intensity.
As an aside aren’t the uruguayians horrible cunts?
Suarez diving and that horrible cunt Cavani gesturing for a yellow card when they were 4 up after he was hauled back by a lad who was clearly knackered? – they are some partnership tho, the movement of Suarez is really great, id love to see him in a stadium and watch how he plays off the ball, one of the inform players in the world right now.
Also, isn’t queen Rania an absolute cracker? (she’s on the left) https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQlnBrs6NdZTzs97G2Ron5wYW6Q0ZvuTSR16p-rA-nLTGSjJ8lR
