We should surely be going 3 at the back. Coleman, Duffy, Egan, wing backs Doherty and Stevens. Mcgoldrick and Connolly as a 2 up front. Problem is our midfield I am not convinced by any of them.
Iâd agree with that. He seems to be very effective when used as an attacking wing back, but Coleman is a far better option in a back 4, where more defending and discipline is required
I wouldnât be overly confident of Coleman holding his own in a back three. Kenny should just make a call and pick whichever one he feels is a better right back rather than shoe horning lads into the team.
Dara OâShea has played CB and RB so should be able to do a job at RCB. Ciaran Clark would be cover for Egan at LCB

Correct - Goals, back, middle and up top is where our problems are.
No but 5-3-2 allows us to get two of our ineffective strikers on the pitch

doesnât work. We have nobody to pick a pass in the middle of the field and we have nobody to keep the ball deeper in midfield.
Youâre basically saying weâll camp out with 5 at the back and hope for a set piece.

Currently our full backs are more threatening than our wide forwards, with the possible exception of Connolly, while our lone frontman is never in the box.
I think McCarthy could play a deep lying midfielder connecting defence to attack - has the attributes
We have a very good back line and goalkeeper by international standards, although the keeper is getting a bit ropey.
Midfield and forwards are the problem. Maybe we could do what Spain did and play 4-6-0
He has in his bollocks. He doesnât want to know about getting the ball off his centre backs. Aside from a couple of nice performances at the 2016 Euros he has been completely underwhelming in his other 40 odd games for Ireland

We havenât one top half of the epl standard player playing for us.
We are short in every line.

If we play 352 we have the option of playing Didsy who is a must and another striker alongside him who will stay further up. At the moment we donât have any good wingers anyway so taking them out and leaving the space there for the wing backs is preferable I think
the problem still remains we have noone to keep the ball in midfield to allow the wing backs to get forward. So weâre basically playing with 5 at the back and wonât be able to get out
