Nearly right. Those Down gurriers were first in with negative tactics - kicking the ball away to kill impetus, then lying down clutching their heads/ legs or whatever.
And lads said at the time “isn’t it great to see them breakthrough the poor bastards”

Martin wants to go back to a time where a corner back cuts out an attack and launches a thump forward which lands somewhere between midfield and the half forward line.
For me, addressing the hand pass issue is the equivalent to tending to a cut when there are gaping wounds all over the place.

The dirty tactics employed by Tyrone were the only way they could stop proper footballing counties like Kerry.

Football is a grand game. The only issue is the amount of hammerings in the championship
I was watching Galway warm up in Newbridge on Sunday. They had two mini-games where lads ran around hand passing to each other. This went on for about 5 minutes. I didn’t notice any lads kicking the ball but it could have been done before I arrived. A northern accent shouted encouragement and applauded them at the end. He’s obviously the Tyrone coach they’ve brought in and in fairness to him they were defensively solid.
As the match meandered along with 27 players in one half of the pitch hand-passing the ball backwards, sideways and sometimes even forwards I found myself yearning for a Ja Fallon shimmy and a 40 yarder over the blackspot or a Mikey Donnellan dash and point but the best I got was a Shane Walsh dash and bad wide.

What did you make of the new jerseys mate? I heard the reason the hurlers had to wear white in Wexford was because Galway only had one set of the camouflage ones and they wanted the footballers to get a run out in them for morkeshing purposes.
Hopefully there is only one set, it’s gash. It would have made the game far more interesting if Galway wore the white away jersey.
Is that table available by age group?
Rehashing his defensive football is bad article. Has he used up his team ranking one already or is he saving it for after the league?
In the Kerry Dublin ‘77 game there were about 4 times as many misplaced passes as their recent semi final.
