Fitness XL- Your training routine

Have had on going issues with partial dislocation for about 5 years. A consultant advised to get an operation on it 2 years ago but it wasn’t really feasible at the time.

It has been fine for the past 12 months but was doing a dumbbell shoulder press the last night and got a bit of weakness in it and lost balance, straining the muscles a bit. I’m hoping it’s just a strain and no real damage done.

Paul Murray is excellent. He’ll putyou through the ringer but if he does then that’s what needs to be done and he’ll get you sorted.

Some good stretching and exercises in there… Have one or two more specific ones I can post up after lunch.

Just after my first session in the altitude gym. Bolloxed.

What’s an altitude gym, bro?

It’s a gym, in a sealed room, where the oxygen levels has been reduced by up to 33%. It simulates training at altitude.

What did you do there?

It was mostly on the bike. 45 minutes.
There’s another class that’s a mixture of circuits and bike that I’d like to try.

How much? Priced the hot yoga out there, turns out it’s mad pricey.

I’m crippled today.

First proper legs session yesterday in months.

Squats - bar (20kg) x 20
40kg x 15
50kg x 10
60kg x 10

Walking lunges with 15kg dumbells 3 x 12 with a set of ten backward lunges after each set.

Calf raises - smith machine- 60kg 4x 12

Jumping squats with bar (20kg) 3x10

Single leg squats with bar (20kg) 3 x 5 each leg.

I’m stiff out today after it.

Started back team training proper this week, last night was a core session, all body weight exercises, I think it’s based on the “insanity” program, it’s short but tough. Feeling it today.

you have any links to it runt?

What we were at last night was a warm up.

Then a set of 4 exercises done continiously for 45 secs each, then 30 secs break, then through the four exercises again (done 4 times in total).

Then 3 mins rest

Another set of 4 diffferent exercises x 4

So you are going nearly constantly for about 40mins

ah yeah i know what insanity is, i was wondering if you had any links the workouts…

or was it all just variations of planks moutainclimers etc…

No, we don’t publish our sessions on line!

He had names for most of them but not sure if they were just names he made up himself.

Jumping lunges, mountain climbers, planks, press ups, high knees, punching, etc

It’s ok, my friend is a big patriots fan and said he would have no problem in going and recording your training sessions.

I would love a crack at this Insanity stuff but it would have to be within a group session. There is no way I’d have the disipline to do it in front of a TV in my own home.

Ya, I’d be the same, I’d have to have someone driving me on.
