Youre doing a masters part-time? Why didn’t you say!!! Cheers pal…
Up your bollox
Who is Jordan Reed, bro?
I’ll ask you to never mention that name again please.
Because @Treaty Stones is an irritable little cunt (since he got married, big coincidence) and doesn’t like anyone to mention anything more than once, which is completely unfair as you clearly missed out on Horsey’s big news about his masters.
good point
WTF happened to this @TreatyStones / runt character?
he sent me an IM about a year ago saying to cut out the banter as many people in Limerick GAA knew who he was, he then rebranded and when @caoimhaoin called him out for being a horrible snake he responded with this whole " that was a few years ago, we are all older now and more mature" and quickly ran the fuck off the thread.
Clearly he has become consumed with paranoia about IP addreses or else the wife sat him down and has reminded him who is boss, this is a reflection of this.
For a fella who dedicated his time on here to finding out and distributing posters personal information and playing the hard man this is some comeuppance
After nearly 3 months off dealing with injury, I know the board will delight in the news that I have resumed training… I’ve had a 30 minute light weights session and a 20 minute light running session last night and all good so far. I;d like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone one of you for your support over the hellish last few months, it really got me through… I now have over half a stone to lose in the process… bring it on!!
He’s back!You’re welcome, mate.
What was the injury anyway mate? Starting back to the gym the weekend. I’ll be happy with tipping along for the next month or two.
I don’t know… Rest and stretching have seen off the most of it, tho when the back area is cold it still gets sore but disappears as soon as i have a shower or the area is warmed up… @Horsebox , that’s hardly bulging disk material is it?
Could well be my friend. It’s not the two disks themselves that cause me the trouble* but the muscles surrounding them which contract to protect it. So my gluts would contract and be hard as concrete which tightens my hammys. I sit on a hot compress most nights before I go to bed to loosen it up-10 minutes on each cheek of my arse. You can buy microwavable ones for 5 or 6 bob.
*It is obviously the disks that cause the problems.
Wtf
tried tabata on the exercise bike this morning
was dizzy after it - couldn’t sustain the effort for the last two intervals and watts dropped way down which is supposed to be a sign you aren’t fit enough to actually do it properly
will keep at it even if not strictly tabata

What’s this, mate? I’m using the bike a lot these days.

Tabata left me dizzy as well the last time I met her.
get on the bike and do a short warmup then you do 20 seconds as hard as you can (have a look at wattage you get) 10 seconds rest and repeat until you get to 4 minutes trying to match the initial wattage
so it would be
20 seconds work, 10 seconds rest x 8
they key is you need to work as hard as you physically can for each 20 second work interval and ideally keep up the same wattage as the first 20 seconds

What do you do after the four mins? Is that it? Same resistance setting all through?
20 secs as hard as you can, 10 rest.
8 intervals = 4 mins.
if you have done it properly you can leave the gym having done your session
if you can do another one then you haven’t gone hard enough
good chance to go and lie down and do some mobility work to recover
resistance doesn’t matter once you are at maximum effort and wattage is a good way to measure that
