Cheers count, will pick up an 8 so.

As regards the 400m, im just going on what strava said. It could be, and probably is, well off

Pulled hamstring this morning. Gutted, never done it before.

Welcome aboard, mate.

Did you feel it tear? Hopefully just a strain, pal.

Felt a pinch/strain. Pulled up straight away. In a lot of pain right now

Ice, nurofen, keep it elevated.

Check, check, check

What were up I doing?

Running for a ball. Pain seems to be concentrated around the lower end of the hamstring.

Try run it off, pal. Go out into the back garden and do some zig zag running followed by very long jolting lunges. If it gets painful, you know it’s working. Follow up with some Basil Fawlty goose step scissors kicks. You’ll thank me later.

Sounds maybe like an overuse injury, although very hard to know. Curly native fatigue of with the hammy it hip flexor. I would suggest weak Glutes but you seem to do the strength work so maybe not. Do you do Glute activations?
How far into game was it?

I do have issues with tight glutes but am always careful to stretch them before games.
It was about 10 minutes into the second half. Hadn’t been involved much in the second half up to that so between that and half time maybe had gone “cold”.

That’s excellent advice.

I can’t walk, let alone run but thanks for the advice.

For non competitive exercisers I think trx is the best I’ve come across for changing body shape and losing a few inches off the waist. Trx is only a brand but seems to have caught on in the same was Hoover.

Kettle bells are only effectively dumb bells.

i would respectively disagree with you regarding kettlebells @Appendage.

When used correctly they are a fantastic full body work out . They shape of the kettlebell makes it easy to manipulate for a variety of moves targeting muscles which can be hard to incorporate into a dumbbell routine…

Personally i find them excellent for an all round work out. That said i have never tried Trx but on your glowing recommendation i am quite interested.

After seeing a group of birds coasting through a TRX class in the gym, I dismissed it as a fad initially, but a few months later did a session with a proper coach and was impressed with it. Definitely one of those things where you’ll get out what you put in, but it’s easy enough to hide when doing it as well.

I wouldn’t have said the posters on here are the type that hide in training sessions.

I have had salad each day for lunch this week - avocado and chicken salad today

Lean like the tower of Pisa.
