I have reason to head to West Limerick in the early afternoon. Where’s the best place for a nice lunch?
I’ll be in the Mahoonagh/Castlemahon area, so pretty close to Newcastlewest but I don’t intend heading back to Limerick via the main road as the roadworks in Adare will only add to the clusterfuck that already exists there.
My preferred method of escape will be via the Bruff Line.

You’re pretty much picking a road there that passes through no where of consequence.
There’s a grand restaurant in the community centre in Croom. Won’t blow you away or anything but it’s decent lunch grub.
Alternatively Nevilles in Kilfinny is supposed to be alright.

There is Nevilles Cross Inn in Kilfinny. Slightly off the Bruff Line but you might consider it. Decent enough grub but I have heard that since renovation may be a bit on the pricey side.
The Mallard on the riverbank is supposed to be OK,
I know nothing about NCW these days mate, I have hardly set foot in the kip since I was old enough to get into proper nightclubs
They do a mean stuffing chip in Superbites though.

It’s average but with huge portions
It is not haute cuisine but for a pub in Reens it is more than decent . Doing well too .
Cronins in The Square in NCW is grand out for lunch. Theres a hape of new restaraunts opened up in NCW over the past while, most of them decent.
There’s one on the corner opposite Adrenaline sports, was in there recently enough and it seemed decent.
