Arra Cafe? Asian Food. It’s the best Asian/Chinese food available around the place (outside of the City). Their Duck Pancakes are unreal. They do European style Lunches as well as far as I know.
I can’t remember what I had but it was most likely a European style lunch, i.e. a sandwich.
I recommend you take Princess/The Queen for a nice Asian meal there some night. I recommend the Duck Pancakes to start, you could have the General Tso’s Chicken for mains and herself could be very adventurous and try the Hakka San Chicken or the Hainan Chicken dish, unreal stuff. You’re welcome mate.
The Brown Morel isn’t bad either, and the old chef from the Devon Inn has opened up a place with some friends of his there last week in the Market Yard called ‘The Silver Room’ which is getting good early reviews.
If I’m taking my wife out for dinner it won’t be for a Chinese in NCW.
It’s a hidden gem. It was only a suggestion for when you might be passing through and feeling peckish. I’m sure it’s The Treasury for you every time mate…
What kind of roaster brings his wife to a Chinese
A Chinese roaster?
A China man wouldn’t be caught dead eating that muck…
Used to go there as a kid on holidays. My parents loved it. Roaster central
There used to be a nice Italian in NCW but that’s going back ten years ago. You could always go into Marguerite’s for an overpriced toasted sandwich (is it still there). Worked out there years ago and the food options were shite. Whelans pub used to do food that was edible
That Whelans pub is long gone. They bought another pub down Maiden St. and are flying it. Food wise they do soup, sandwiches, fancy wraps etc during the day. Margueruites is still going. Serious buns, shite food. Their grilled chicken pitta is about the only thing decent there. They have a very nice restaurant opened overhead upstairs though
What’s a fancy wrap, mate?
One with cheese.
Mama Mias?
Can’t remember name. A reasonably fancy (by NCW standards) place in the market sq.
Is that a chipper? I ate there as well. I was a fat man when I worked in NCW. I’ve also had Chinese food in the town - there were three different chineses on the go back in the day and I tried them all out
Think thats where the silver room is now, the same crowd have the chipper up by L&N.
That’s pure West Limerick to still call it L&N
It is ya, used to have unralable pizza
A loastel
