Farmer made the point already on this thread that sums up my feelings.

1. Don’t engage in behaviour yourself that you so despise in others. It is hypocrtical.
Interesting that Rangers could have signed Lennon and ended the “policy” earlier than they did. I think Novo is a smashing player and reckon he’ll play for Celtic some day. Stamping on Celtic players would be quickly forgotten about - these rows with the players are great viewing, because for all their chanting the OF fans tend to be slow in getting a proper row going.
I’d like to think Chris Burke would be welcomed into the Irish international scene in the same way McGeady has but I’ve no doubt there’d be Celtic arseholes who’d give him vile abuse - most of whom have probably never even been to the north of Ireland.
Back on topic
There was an air disaster
not 60 years ago
Busby and his bastards
were dying in the snow
searching through the wreckage
this is what they said
there is Duncan Edwards
Without his fooking head
Oh, we hate Man U and we hate Man U
etc etc
Steve Gerrard Gerrard
He kisses the badge on his chest
He hands in a transfer request
Steve Gerrard Gerrard
Class…
I would sing that…
Hey Farmer you forgot to complain about people singing about the Munich air disaster. For all your talk of hypocrisy on this thread, that takes the biscuit.
Come on don’t tell me you don’t like this one http://www.thefreekick.com/board/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif
Oh the Ibrox disaster was magic
the Ibrox disaster was magic
the Ibrox disaster was ma-gic
they all fell down the stairs
they all fell down the stairs
It’s a purely personal thing against you and Bandage…
Sledgehammer never set himself up as a saviour figure…
The Huns are scum with their vile comments about Celtic players. Let’s make vile comments about Hun players.
Ah good God you’re trying to justify your stance now.
So far on this thread you’ve said
You’re talking yourself into circles.
Now you don’t have a problem with the song about the Munich disaster but you do have a problem with a song about a fictitious event.
And just to top it all off you imply that I set myself up as some sort of “saviour figure.” Eh you’re the one who fell over all offended when I made the post. I haven’t complained about a single post here.
Farmer is bang on with this.
Who’s that lying on the runway
who’s that lying in the snow
it’s Matt Busby and his boys
making all the fookin noise
cos they can’t get the airplane to go
He’s actually not Flano as he’s made absurd and ridiculous statements about religious persecution and sectarianism being behind the chant which is clearly and obviously not the case. It’s a chant that wishes harm on a cunt - no more no less - and he can spare me the faux outrage and selective morality. I despise a number of vile characters and wish the same for countless other cunts. It’s got nothing whatsoever to do with their race or religion, like Novo it’s to do with the fact they’re cunts plain and simple. If he said it’s a terrible thing to wish ill on another human, I’d disagree with him but I’d accept it but I’m not having the complete and utter bullshit he’s been spouting.
It is sectarian though. It clearly is. I’ve no problem with the chant personally. Im not trying to be a wind up merchant here but have you not expressed disgust at chants from Rangers fans in the past that were/are much like the Celtic chant in question?
As the chant is clearly not sectarian, then you either are in fact trying to be a wind up merchant or have no understanding of what sectarian means.
I’d be willing to wager my etymology knowledge is superior to yours.
I doubt it. But if you do understand this particular word then you obviously have no understanding whatsoever of the conflict in Ireland. Whether you abhor, support or are completely neutral about the merits of the IRA, their military objective was never to murder Spanish Catholics and that is without question.
Bandage/Rock - please answer my question:
Why is the IRA included in the chant?
Bandage/Rock - please answer my question:

How many times do you want that questioned answered?
Part of the reason is that it rhymes with pray. And another part of the reason is that many Celtic fans have IRA sympathies. I think that’s abundantly clear and is evidenced in a whole host of songs sung at the games referencing Irish history.
Why not say UDA? Thats rhymes with pray too.
so does YMCA…
Yeah thats a good one. What about Dr. Dre?
or Pele…
