It’ll be great for Mick to finish up in the premier league
Meanwhile Ipswich are headed for division 4, and a large cohort of their fans are still convinced they were right to Get rid of him.
He was working miracles there
The football was grim enough, but he was genuinely working miracles.
Kenilworth Road is no tea party in February. Mick’s charges on fire.
Hon’ the Bluebirds…
His management at Ipswich Town was top drawer
The brits are awful thick
He was operating off a shoestring.
Has any team actually ever improved in the short term after Mick left them?
Milwall, Ireland, Sunderland, Wolves, Ipswich all had a
He relegated Wolves and Sunderland on very low points. Ran out of both.
A serious lack of context and mistruths in a very short post.
Mick was sacked by Wolves in February 2012. They had 21 points from 25 games - they lost 11 of the next 15 without him and zero wins. They were in the relegation mix when he was sacked and then went on to be relegated from the championship the following season - losing 34 of their next 60 games (56%) without Mick while they had only lost 100 out of 270 games (37%) under Mick’s management
He took Sunderland to play offs and then romped home to win the Championship the following year, then received no financial backing to strengthen the squad upon promotion which led to inevitable results. They won one game in 11 in the premier league after sacking him and lost their first four games in the championship they following season.
Impressive stats. Are you Cathal Dervan? Sean Dyche gets very little to spend but has kept Burnley up. All these lads backing Mick obviously did’nt watch Mick’s Ireland team v Gibraltar home and away, Georgia away, Switzerland away. Turgid stuff.
Micks a great lower league manager.
Yet more lies and mistruths
Sean Dyche got Burnley promoted to the Premier League where they were relegated after one season. The same as Big Mick.
The only difference was that Dyche was retained and they were promoted for a second time and this time opened the check book and broke their club transfer record three times that one summer to sign the likes of Steven Defour, Jeff Hendrick and Robbie Brady.
Why wasnt Mick headhunted by the likes of Burnley if he was the answer? Results don’t lie, Mick not a premier league standard manager.
Big Mick is a man of honour who would not walk out on a contract with one club to take over another in such a manner. Why are you posting mistruths about him on this forum? The least you could do is admit you were mistaken and incorrect.
The narrative you are trying to paint about an honest football man, an Ireland legend and friend of the forum like Mick is sickening.
You obviously didnt watch Ireland under Mick for 2020 campaign. Welcome back Sidney.
I attended all home games in that campaign and enjoyed them all. Relatively speaking I felt some of the football was at worst on a par and at times a step up on what we had seen under the previous two managers and the current manager. Second half v Switzerland and Denmark were very good performances relatively speaking given what went before him, the players at his disposal and lack of time to build a team.
Are you going to acknowledge for your mistruths?
