Funeral etiquette

Limerick… Before the mass informally if you want to catch one or two people as they are in the church yard or aisle. Very handy if you only know a few of a large family. Need to be in good time for this, particularly if the coffin was not in church overnight.

Always have time after the conclusion of rites for people to file up to the mourners in the front row. This will be announced by the priest

A nawful load of bollocks, the hole thing. Fire me off a cliff into the atlantic, you don’t even have to wait til I’m dead. A couple of hail marys, a few good riddances , call it a day.

Every cloud

Checking RIP.ie every morning for 25+ years to see if there’s any mention of Joan, the one that got away.

That has the makings of a Lifetime movie of the week about it

Would he not just go to the funeral and stalk her like any other self respecting Roscommon weirdo?

He probably doesn’t want to make her feel uncomfortable.

That’s intense

Lads are very cynical. Whatever happened to romance, true love, finding your soul mate…and all that other pile of bullshit

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take

Will he get the ride?

Sure she’d not want to let him get away again…the ride is assured.

Be like that short story in DĆŗil that was on the Leaving Cert course. The lad that went to America can’t stop dreaming of this beautiful young wan he left at home. When he comes back to Ireland 30 years later he sees her and she’s an owl :owl: hag.

He was expecting Cathy Beale but what he got was Pauline Fowler

Maybe he has already done the scouting and seen that she hasn’t morphed into a hippo.
