@Corksfinedtboy (for some reason the reply function isnāt working) being a painter can be a hard knock. Iām a trade qualified painter from when I was 19 and everyone assumes itās a piss easy job and expects absolute perfection when itās just not possible. Youāre at the mercy of whatever fuck up a builder did and have to cover over other peopleās fuck ups. But then itās your fault.

Same boat,as Iām old for a painter 61 in a few weeks my site time is limited,but Iāve a stable of oul dolls and their connections so work is great for a few months , nothing for a few,gave up working for subbies yearās ago,Iād the taxmanās looking for clearance certs for nigh on 10 years ( was involved in a security business, partner legged it and topped himself in the states)I hadnāt a receipt for a bag of chips so when I got it sorted I promised never to get in a situation like that again , so I take what I can get an am thankful,and was about to start a part time ( bit steady) job the week all this shite started,started as a fabricator ended up as a foreman painter in Derry for a few years , city and guildās etc etc,so Iām happy with my lot

Iāve an uncle in a nursing home in Kildare at 103. Heās nearly longer drawing it than he was contributing to it. Thatās the model Iām currently following.
