I said exactly the same
But went back to them as VF who I was with for 8 years just wouldnât match them at all
In fact increased their prices
Iâd enough of their nonsense
And know Iâll probably regret returning to Eir
As you being a painter I am surprised at you. Cheaper doesnât always mean better or even same.
I know boy but the 5 g mobile sim frees all u can
I worked for VF for 5yrs. Weâd sometimes hire ex EIR employees. I would ask them what they thought of the shambles that was VF after theyâd settled in, and they remarked it made EIR look 3rd world-like. That was worrying. VF will almost never undercut their competitors on price, as they market themselves as the âpremium providerâ in the state, even if the competitor provides a better service, which they often they will depending on your location.
im surprised VF let eir heads through the door. i used to work for BT, before it was sold to VF, and a lot of my former colleagues wouldve gone over to VF with the sale.
this was before LLU and it was mostly copper pair back then (top speed of 3mb) but the shit that eir wholesale would get up to back then was ridiculous, and comreg was about as useful as a helicopter with an ejector seat. if comreg had have tackled eir properly back then, weâd have a much better comms market now.
Yes, comreg wasnât fit for purpose. I knew a handful of the BT crew. Paul Smith from Fermanagh, who ended up in a terrible stabbing incident during covid. The demographics definitely differed between the firms at customer facing level. Vodafone stuffed with SOCODU types and a more working class Dub in the Eircom setups. The latter made far livelier drinking companions.
id forgotten about paul smith, that was horrific
there was a good few dubs in BT that transferred over. one of them did so well that hes marrying an heiress! there was always a good drinking culture there as well, every friday weâd end up at howl and then die a death on saturday mornings.
im sure weâd know a good few of the same people
i did a few years in EIRCOM around 2000, those were great days⌠scheduled tea breaks, employee share ownership, a bottomless pit of a training fund. I did 2 weeks in London on a course in 2000, i had no credit card so my manager gave me 1500 pounds in cash to last me the 2 weeks.
cue fooley with one of his popping pills in the90s stories
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
checkmate, yahtzee and gin, i knew that would draw you out. the lads are having a great laugh about it on the rathoath group
Horrible incident and such a great chap. No doubt we do.
Jammy
Painters are cheap
Lot of it around Valentia island and Caherciveen
Sorry only seen this. Yep thats the one. Still so hard to believe what happened. I donât think we will ever be the same again.
The Vodafone ad with the kid playing the violin badly.
In general just a shit ad but that din coming on even when the volume is low and a newborn asleep.
The kid was in âtoyshow the musicalâ
Very sorry to read about your loss. Seems like a shocking incident.
The compensation due to those who had their shops flooded in Midleton has increased dramatically to âŹ100k.
Another would think that the Minister for Finance and other key cabinet members were from Cork.
Nobody will profit from it thatâs for sure.
Hopefully the business owners in the South East wonât have to contend with similar begrudgery if they also face ruin
