My sister in law got hers via this scheme. 50 years on you’ll spot the motor sideways taking up 2 or more spaces outside Tesco or the chapel with a clear exit passage. I’d be a firm believer she’s never used reverse gear in her lifetime.

Did you do the test in Leitrim?

That would have been about 35 year before they had a permanent traffic light in place woukd it?

That’s about right give or take a year. The traffic light came in 2003 if memory serves me right.

I was up for a friend’s 25th in 2007 in Drumshanbo/Carrick.

Cartown was hit hard, he was unimpressed that we want to see ā€˜the traffic light’ though.

A girl in work said to me this evening that her father had to always reverse her elderly next door neighbours car. Like I mean…

My godmother god rest her got one of those licences back in the day and never drove a car in her life

I remember RTƉ news had a segment on that unveiling of the light

There is savage money to be made driving tour buses. There is some kind of cert you can get to be a tour guide as well and can do both. A fella told me you could have a bus full of 50 yanks for a week and you’d be carrying the bags up to the rooms and answering all their stupid questions for the week…but you’d get 4 or 5k in tips for the week and you’d get a right good summer out of it

My father got his by writing away for it. Can I have a licence please. Sure. And he could drive a truck a bus the works. Any wonder there were so many deaths on the road

Get a luxury car or van. Get the limo or Hackney licence and drive rich Yanks around the golf clubs of Ireland on their golf holidays.

Drive?

They all stay at the Manor now and get helicoptered around the country. The helicopter was going full belt all last weekend.

There are thousands of very rich millionaire yanks playing golf here every week that would be spending 10k on their trip and not getting the chopper…it’s some racket.

When the yank tourists play on ballybunion for example the might pay 350 quid for the round and get an air tag on the bag and if they aren’t going around fast enough they will be asked to either speed up or skip a hole to keep the pace going :rofl: you’d be fair sick

There’s a market below the helicopter class.

I don’t play golf. I’ve met a few groups on my travels. It’s absolutely huge bidniz - I was surprised to learn how big.

I’d say that is a great idea. Bit of handy chat and your sorted. Brother lives in the states and I booked 4 days of golf for a few of his colleagues there last year … paid about a grand for 4 rounds they thought it was savage value…they wouldn’t have thought twice if I’d taken another 500 quid a head off them for my commission

Huge. once in a lifetime trip for most.

There are only 250 links courses in the world. Only 5 or 6 of these in the states. At least 30 or 40 top class ones in Ireland . It’s like a different world for them
