GAA All Star awards - sponsored by Ferrero Rocher. The chocolate of champions

1-1 from play. The goal came from Waterford making a fuck up of a sideline on their own 21 and Prunty having to close the channel that Hegarty was marauding through. There was little he could do. He got the better of that battle despite his team being outhurled all over the field

Prunty fouled Gillane for at least 2 of those frees. 1-3 is a serious auld score for an all star full back to conceded against a non all star full forward, especially considering he missed a game.

Did Dan Morrisseys man do that any day?

He was allowed pull and drag off the ball the entire game twas comical how he was left away with it, literally fouled the entire match but umpires are useless for pointing it out.

Depends how many fires the fullback is trying to put out.

Ah here. From a Limerick man :joy:

That’s what I used say to the KK lads :grinning:

Dan Morrissey put out an inferno in the Munster final

Not really, when you are on a team that is being dominated out the field there is very little you can do, see Limerick’s goal as an example, two free runners through the middle in Casey and Hegarty when hit the line ball straight to Limerick, it’s almost impossible to defend unless the attacker fucks up. Prunty won that battle and hurled a lot of ball and negated Gillane considering Gillane’s impact in other games in similar circumstances over the past few years.

It was true for them too. Burke is the cleanest defender in the game, but he’s a freak.

Spurious enough reasoning. Prunty deserves an all star because Waterford were shit?

He didn’t really. It passed through. Whilst it was blowing Morrissey did fcuk all.

Tony Kelly lucky enough, fine hurler no doubt but he was below his 2020 levels. The biggest moment he was involved with this year was missing the late goal chance against Cork which would have knocked them out.

Hegarty fortunate enough to be honest. D Morrissey was the best full back in the country this year. Shored the team up from the Munster final onwards.

Quaid is criminally under-rated. The guy is just error free. Compare that to Eoin Murphy getting binned v Wexford and almost costing them the same game at the end of normal time.

No he deserved an all star as he hurled well this year, it’s tough on Morrissey who hurled well but probably needed another game to oust him. He was about the only Waterford lad who was able to win his battle in the Limerick game when all around him were well beaten. He was very good v Galway and after a sloppy opening 5 minutes he got the better of Callinan v Tipp as well

He was sitting on the bench. Him coming on shored up the whole back line

Delighted for WOD after being shafted last year

Exactly mate. He did fcuk all.

Fair enough I am struggling to remember the clare games. No doubt without him clare would be very poor. Definitely one of the few players outside that limerick team that would get into it

The Galway full forward line cleaned them as well

To be fair Waterford were the runners up, Cork just happened to make the final

Them? Did the Waterford full backline win all stars en masse or something?

Two injury time goals in a game where Galway scored 1-12 in the first three quarters of the game despite Waterford having a man sent off at half time.
