GAA All Star awards - sponsored by Ferrero Rocher. The chocolate of champions

Id never go there. Its an amateur game and regardless of how good or bad one is, the fact that they give up their time to contribute makes them critic free imo

Noel Skehan should be unanimous really.
I don’t care how many medals he has

It’s only around since 1995.
So Skehan never won it.

The ‘Hurler of the year’ award has existed since the 50s, mostly household names (for GAA fans) but a few outliers, most notably Skehan in 1982

The Texaco Award was the real thing

Yea, that’s the Texaco one.
1958-2012

Seán Óg Ó hAilpín, without a shadow of a doubt. Got the best out of himself as a player for his hurling ability, no doubt about that, but in all fairness he was not in the same league hurling ability wise as the rest of that esteemed list.

And that’s not an insult…THAT is just a fact of life.

Yea, he was my standout choice as well but I was afraid to post.
He didn’t pick up a hurl until he was 12. He never had the fluency but by God he had the fitness and the strength.

OOOFFFTTT!

Fitzgibbon could still catch Kyle for All Ireland’s so we shouldn’t gloat just yet.

Even if catching him meant a sprint race I would still take Hayes.

Can cancel the big screens in Charleville this year again anyway.

Tremendous INTERNETTING

I know Fitzgibbon is a Ballyagran man which obviously makes him a Limerick man but he would not make the Limerick panel. He falls well short in the attributes a hurler needs to make the cut in Limerick.

Does’nt have the work rate. Same as Ronan Lynch.

I dunno give him the Limerick gym and diet plan and the training and on paper you’ve a HOTY contender. However he could spit out the dummy like a Ronan Lynch.

He’d definitely get game time in the Munster League.
