GAA All Star awards - sponsored by Ferrero Rocher. The chocolate of champions

In fairness though, hes probably the best winter hurler in the country

I have it on good authority that that is not why Forde missed that game

Would he have learned nothing from Larry Tomkins?

Was that the year they should have won the semi-final v KK but it rained too much?

If it was dry Kilkenny would have won by more.

That was a great Kilkenny side to be fair. For that era.

Oh dear.

A 30 year old Tommy Walsh was deemed past it back then. Eoin Kelly was 32 in 2014 and could barely get a look in. Different standards.

Nowadays a 35 year old Reid is KK’s best player by a country mile.

Reid is different gravy. Tommy was a whackit merchant.

Possibly. Still one of the most memorable games I’ve ever been at. The skill levels on display in the conditions were insane.

Some of @thelimericks will have the ancient ordnance survey maps out again showing Fitzgibbon back garden strays into Co limerick

Very much doubt that. If anything they’d be willing to hand it over if it did.

How many lads into their 30’s played in the 2014 final?

JJ, Jackie, Brian Hogan, Mick Fennelly, Eoin Larkin? Shefflin and Taggy came on
Tipp would have had Gleeson, Stapleton? McGrath? Corbett was in his 30’s, Eoin Kelly and John O’Brien came on in their 30’s

13 lads in and around their 30’s played in 2014 final - 9 starters and 4 subs

The 2 goalies this year, TJ, Padraig and Walter Walsh (came on), Richie Hogan (came on) and Graeme Mul. - 5 starters and 2 subs.

“Loads of scores” “No wides” sure the legends game this year had goals galore - not sure what they’re trying to prove.

Stapleton wasn’t 30 in 2014, neither was Michael Fennelly. You are making stuff up here.

Shane McGrath was the same age as Hannon this year.

There are two games in the History of the GAA across both codes which stand head and shoulders above the rest and by which greatness is defined - the 2014 Hurling Final and the 2017 Football final. Unfortunately for the Limericks, ye weren’t around for either.

Do you sit around at night watching old episodes of baywatch

The standard is off the chain these days. Old lads just whacking it doesn’t cut it anymore.

Harping on about a year they lost the final. Glory days for Tipperary.

:joy:

Hego could fire over from 100 yards with the entire Tipp 2014 team hanging off his back.
