When are the football ones due to be announced, pal?

Live on the TV show on Friday night, I think.

Do they not usually announce them before the show itself?

They alternate each year. 1 announced in advance and 1 on the night.

Joey Holden???

Jesus

In fact that entire full back line is questionable. Now maybe the oppositiin to them was not great. But none of them were consistently great and all 3 were in trouble with opponents at various times or Oā€™Connors case had a fairly armchair ride.

Only the three for Waterford this year. Iā€™m fairly seething over that but at least it will give us a bit of motivation in 2016.

Really, I dont remember Paul Murphy taking too many wrong steps all year. Holden in his rookie year held nearly all who came his way, and I dont really recall many other great performances.

Obviously Cahir Healy has been robbed, but we expected that, what with him not being nominated.

Murphy was good withoit being as good as usual. Holden was very average.
Just a sign of how shot hurling is really.

Murphys usual standards makes a good year seem average. He held most (or all?) who came near him and nursed a rookie full back to an All Star at the same time. He was a shoo in. And I still cant think of another full back.

Holden played the role of the classic Kilkenny full back with aplomb. Unshowy, unfussy, ruthlessly guarding the square.

He worked in to it somewhat alright but was very shaly most of the year.
Pity he wasnā€™t put against Callnan in CP.

Who else was there? Murphy made a number of uncharacteristic mistakes in the first half of the final but was still probably the best corner back in the country.

Ya maybe its just ahort term memory or the fact he was not tested enough.

Just a fairly uninspiring all star team. The weakest i can remember.

Aside from TJ, Hogan and Shanahan. Nobody else really lighting the place up.

Callanan didnā€™t light up the place?

Ger Aylward seems to have gotten one as he was on the KK teamā€¦

I hate the allstars, they always pick far too many from the Champions and thatā€™s even with this year having fewer than usual on itā€¦ the only judge teams on the All Ireland rather than the League, doe the GPA do a players team of the year?

Not a bad attempt, only two out.

The GPA took the soup a few years ago, this is the GAA/GPA All Stars Team. Dessie needed to feather his nest.

Glynn is probably hard done by.

And Flynn.

Score of the year in the final.
