Does anyone know if this is still the case for the All Stars? Iâm asking the posters who are currently in the intercounty scene specifically here.
*The composition of the All Star teams are decided on the basis of a shortlist compiled by a selection committee of sports journalists from the national media, while the overall winners are *chosen by inter-county players themselves
Yes, I was of that impression that it was old information as well. I believe there are a committee appointed now of journalists and former players/managers.
Holden is no Noel Hickey but he saw off the oppostions main man in each of the games without undue fuss. McDonald, Canning, Shanahan and Canning. Goalie was rarely exposed. He got man of match in All Ireland club final to throw into the mix. There wasnât another full back to touch him.
Aylward scored 3-6 against Wexford. 0-3 against Galway, 0-4 against Waterfordâs bunched defence and a couple of points in final. Consistently good and a great return in his debut starting season.
Bubbles unlucky alright. Zane Keenan another fabulous hurler who had a very good year and should have got at least a nomination.
A fair point, i just dont think of him as a threat but that can happen when he plays with the likes of TJ reid and Richie Hogan. I didnt realise his scoring was as consistent as it was.
