GAA All Star Wars

Thanks @Appendage and @GeoffreyBoycott - never heard of any of them.

Interesting list to see the clubs that donā€™t have 4 rather than those who do.
I would have expected to see Midleton on that list.

The Fenians have 20 All-stars from 2 families

newtownshandrum have three

The Hendersons and Delaneys? I presume Billy Fitz has a couple of All Stars as well?

Yes, he has two but heā€™s related to the Delaneys- well JJ anyway and PJ Ryan has one but Iā€™m counting him as a Delaneyā€™s too as heā€™s married to JJā€™s sister.

Youā€™re playing fast and loose with the language there. What relation is Billy Fitz to the Delaneys?

Turns out Billy Fitzpatrick WAS related to a Hurler despite the evidence otherwise.

Iā€™ve heard something me quare yarns about them finebarrs lads. Is Ger Cunnigham still involved with border gais boys?

No heā€™s retired and is currently busy setting Dublin hurling back 10 years.

Billy Fitzpatricks sister was JJā€™s mother

Ah come on now.

Look, they are all connected.

Will you stop it FFS, youā€™re making us sound like Tipp folk

1990 Ger Cunningham St Finbarrs and John Kerins St Finbarrs won all stars in the same position - only time it has ever happened that two club mates won all stars in the same position in the same year afaik

Thatā€™s a good bit of trivia

Wouldnā€™t be all that many clubmates pick up all stars in both codes in same year full stop Iā€™d say

Not that itā€™ll stop some, but just remember that when youā€™re getting indignant over All Stars, these are the lads who are selecting them.

No Jackie?

I couldnā€™t name half them lads
