Agreed. I think there has been a slight arrogance to Dublins game, a kind of “we’ll create 20 chances so it doesn’t matter if we miss a few” kind of thing. This brashness can go too far. If anyone really tightens up, which Mayo will, it could really halt the Dubs machine.
League is a load of shit, but when Tyrone clogged the whole thing up, Dublin struggled. Leinster is a farce, but again Meath put it up to them and are nowhere as dynamic as any of the top teams.
Where I worry for them is their strength is also their weakness. They are playing by volume, we’ll just keep rolling the dice. Now the attitude is great and they stick to the plan religiously and no matter what’s going on in the game they keep playing hard. I admire thy, but it’s pretty flawed. What happens when they don’t creat enough chances which I think is inevitable in this final. They will HAVE to be more clinical an have a much better %. Flynn and Connolly will have to score 3 points each. They need massive games from Mannion an Brogan. And I think they’ll need a goal from half back or midfield.
They can do this, but it will have taken a change in tact in my opinion in training etc over last 4 weeks.
Cork were basically playing with 5 backs, Kerry’s backs are basically Senior Club standard. I think they are going to get a bit of a land Sunday.
can you name one team since kildare game who haven´t exposed dublin in areas?..its very easy to see where dublin can be exposed FFS…but yet for all the exposure they remain unbeaten…
and I can´t wait to see if you are right about mayo not going defensive for any part of the game…you were so adamant about it…

speaking of club standard and for the sake of objectivity can you tell me about the class of forward mayo backs have marked and how many teams kept their 6 forwards in attack…
May the best team win and all that shite etc.
I couldn’t give a toss which team win, but those who think Mayo are the REAL deal based on beating Connachts finest, a Donegal team beaten by a Monaghan team who showed little thereafter. And finally a gritty but effectively an ultra negative Tyrone team. Now you can say all you want about Mayo this year, but they have not been truly tested and for that reason its advantage Dublin for me.
people are happy to write mayo off because they are “flaky”…i think they will win the minor on Sunday, and they wont be like limerick v CLare where the Limerick fans clapped the score. Mayos fans will genuinely roar them home. And i think they will carry that through to the senior game, they have a very talented bunch of super committed players who have proven they can beat the best. Mayo have always had the talent, pure raw talent, i was certain last year was their day, as they are simply more talented than DOnelgal. But they ran into a 10m nervous period at the start which broke them, i think they’ll have a plan this time to settle into it and as they do, belief will grow into reality. I think Mayo have the talent to beat Dublin, and i think they will put in a performance the likes of which we have not seen from a Mayo side since Meath physically assaulted them out of an AI in '97…

kildare is a Dublin suberb FFS
Over 34.5 is 1/2
Over 38.5 is 3/2
Are we expecting a shoot out?
Draw at 9/1 may be the value bet. Lot depends on first 15 minutes. Mayo will look to start strongly after last year. They need to be ahead at half time as Dublin bench will give them impetus and they will win second half.
If mayo are not ahead after 20 minutes then Dubs may hammer them.
Mayo HT, Dublin FT, 5/1. Mayo will be after a big start after last year and Dublin look the fittest team in the country and have the best bench so expect them to be rolling when it counts in the final quarter.
Also done Diarmuid Connolly motm 12/1, looked the part in the semi, think he could be the difference today, and have a wee nip on the draw cos it’s the gaa.
