But youâre still not getting it, even though you touched on it yourself earlier, if they werenât going to give a game like this to the side with home advantage, then why invest in the ground? If the stadium was for for the purpose they saw it as (as you said your âCarlowsâ etc), donât advise us to upgrade with false promises, give us the money and let us invest in more fucking GDAâs as Cheddar is begging them to! This is a colossal waste of money and all for nothing. That money could have been better used in a lot of other fucking places.
Thereâs something else at play here, itâs not about seats. But feel free to sneer away anyway.
Laois get no more or less than others. There was that money that was lauded a few years ago for developing countries, but that is really pittance when broken down between the counties and over the 4 years. Even if half of what has been pissed into O Moore Park for nothing (700K or so being half) would e a fortune to invest in underage hurling if in the right hands, i.e. cheddar.
Thatâs what really sickens me about this, more good money pissed into a concrete wasteland. Mental.
I see Laois Chairman Gerry Kavanagh made mention of the electioneering being done in the lead up to the other nights decision by a certain council member. Favaâs gotta get paid yo.
This is great news for KK in fairness. No real industry to speak of so Tourism and the local economy benefit. Venue is big enough and accommodating to the modern GAA follower. If it rains most there will be sheltered during the game while sitting down. Winners all round really
@myboyblue what is O Moore parks new capacity going to be now, and is it still only 5,000 seats?
I just wonder, is the season ticket issue what is forcing it to Kilkenny? ie Kilkenny has 17,000 seating capacity, and I think under the terms of the season ticket, you have to be guaranteed a seat (unless you are from Limerick and it is pissing rain in Wexford and the seat must be in the covered stand). And Dublin have 5,000 season tickets and another couple of thousand Parnell Pass season tickets, as well as whatever season tickets Laois and Wicklow would have. So maybe the reason for choosing Kilkenny is this?
I dont have a season ticket, nor never had, but I was told by a Laoisman who does that his season ticket wasnât worth a fuck for reserving a seat when we went to Aughrim last year and got pissed on, so why is it different now?
Gerry Kavanagh said that the LC promised Laois that if 2014 game went to a replay it would be played in O Moore Park. When it only was 18K capacity. So why is this different now?
