What expenses would Philly have been on?
Yeh that makes sense alright. I still think thereās no need for the rule to be in place but some sort of cap would obviously be the play. How that would ever be policed though, I donāt know.
All these things are bypassable.
It could have 2 major benefits - the end of money being spent on chancers, and the break-up of super clubs into more manageable sizes. Outside managers are often just a solution to internal disputes, remove them and we would have countless breakaway clubs within a few years. There would be downsides as well but I reckon itās worth a go.
Oh look, it just so happens Rory Gallagher has started renting a house in our town that needed a football coach.
All our prayers are answered.
Look at that, heās staying in the Chairmans spare bedroom.
Remarkable
Hereās a utility bill from Roryās address in the town, as proof.
Also, say hello to our sponsor, Mick Muldoon Properties.
Housing crisis me hoop
Would this not just disadvantage smaller clubs even more? Bigger clubs are going to have higher quality coaches and managers within their ranks because of their large membership.
It would be a pity really if a generational team from a small club didnāt reach their potential because theyād a few idiots in charge.
Loughmore having seven outsiders involved this year across Hurling/Football is a bit extreme, but theyāll never die wondering anyway.
The whole thing is unenforcable anyway - clubs will be bringing in medics like Rory Gallagher or whoever to flout whatever rule comes in.
Thereās always snitches.
I donāt think Loughmore can really claim to be a āsmallā club any more given the amount of lads they are paying all year. An audit of their books would be interesting
Lads need to consider the fellas making a grand a week to coach a local amateur team here
A lot of these lads could retrain as sports psychologists too.
Iād like to see the tax man go after most of them which would gradually weed out the bluffers.
Whoās funding Loughmore?
It would certainly place more focus on developing coaches. An outside coach coming in now doesnāt have any real interest or motivation to do so
Most in house coaches will do that as a means of extricating themselves from an unpaid role ASAP!!!
Be very handy make an outside manager a clubman.
Iād imagine they are keeping the bare minimum in the lotto account to cover 2 jackpots and spending any excess on keeping their teams going.
On the other hand, they have had a serious upgrade on their facilities in the past few years and it would be interesting to see if what was received in grant money tallies with what was spent⦠A friendly local contractor can dolly up an invoice for any value for the grant process
Jesus Christ mate, dont fucking tell them everything!
We were paying an outside manager £500 back in the year 2000.Some of these lad must be cleaning up nowadays. That cunt Gallagher is surely on Bantys IPAS payroll.
Per session?
A week. That was a lot of lotto tickets, cunt didnāt even win anything
When pounds were pounds.
Probably be equivalent of ā¬1000 a week now
