GAA Managerial Merrygoround Thread - Where will Rory Gallagher end up? (Part 2)

I think Fitz will do alright with them, must be an awful boring voice in the dressing room though.

Have you ever heard Pat Critchley

Malachy O’ Rourke is hardy auld enough for the pension yet is he? I suppose he probably retired from the teaching at 55ish?

Malachy is retired a few years now. Packed it in once he took the Glen Maghera job.

That was a full-time job anyway

Liam Cahill works as a Learning Lead Manager and Brand Ambassador at H&MV Engineering alongside his role as the Tipperary senior hurling manager

There’s a real honorable synergy to the way Tipperary do it

Top hurling manager and an engineer, the guy is practically Leonardo Da Vinci.

It’s usually a few girls from HR that act as the Brand Ambassadors.

No, principals can apply for career breaks the same as every other teacher. I believe there’s a whole other story in that instance that’s for another day.

Thought Cahill was with Johnson & Johnson

" A learning lead manager " . Sounds very high brow.

Good luck and all that but I’m not convinced. When PJ couldn’t get them over the line with a few generational talents I find it hard to see them do it now.

Fitzmaurice seems to have a reputation as a bit of a guru but I’m dubious. He didn’t have the greatest ever kerry squad from what I recall, but he was there a good while. And while the all conquering Dublin team were in the way I don’t remember kerry being the team taking it to Dublin. Perhaps I’m wrong, what do lads that know more about it than me think?

Ye Galway cunts love to be miserable.

Fitzmaurice is a terrible appointment

Fitzmaurice is a middling appointment

I dont think he was a disaster as Kerry manager or anything and clearly knows his Football be he was guilty of overthinking everything and was obsessed with Dublin.

He had subs lined up to come on at the same time as Dublin subs and it never really worked.

I just cant get my head around the logistics of it all. He must be giving up the Principal’s job for three years to commit to this.

What’s Sean Andy at these days?

He came very close to beating Dublin in 2013 and 2016. Dublin were just a better team at the time and i think he did well to get as close and when he got a chance of an all ireland in 2014 he took it. I think he really knows his stuff and will come close with Galway.
