GAA Managerial Merrygoround Thread

A Pat Gilroy/Anthony Cunningham duo would be a great choice.

Was it not a lot more than 10 grand?

Why surely Davy? I dunno is he the man to manage an overtrained and exhausted team. They don’t need huge surgery either. Derek knows the players and might have enough humility not to change the parts that are working well. I think either of them could do well with that team really. Whoever follows next in two or three years probably has a big rebuild job to do.

Davy has achieved a lot more in his managerial career and in my opinion has a lot more tactical nous than Derek. They’ll have a big enough break before they go again that I don’t understand any concerns about overtraining

Mental tiredness maybe. Fuck it imagine Davy had that panel playing like Wexford in 2019… That’s what I think he’d go for though, he’d tear it all up and start from scratch and I don’t think that’s the best course for that team.

Lyng gets the best job in hurling and it’s all a bout Davy. The man* is box office!!

*Davy, not Lynger

Any early moves in Roscommon @RedHandHuns ??

Don Connellan would be a clubmate and personal friend of the county chairman. Surely won’t do his chances any harm.

Pat Flanagan will surely be in the mix after his exploits with Padraig Pearses too.

Anyone else rumoured ??

Mick Bohan.

James Horan would be a fabulous option on their doorstep but he possibly wouldn’t manage a rival.

According to my sources Anthony Cunningham will be named as the new Dublin Hurling manager in the next 48 hours.

More lies.

That would be a smart appointment.

Well when you set it against Davy…

Conor Laverty taking over Down, should help lure some of the Kilcoo players back to the intercounty set up.

Great appointment, if for no other reason than it leaves a few Kilcoo lads out of excuses when they are shown up for not being near the standard needed at intercounty level. Wouldn’t take a lot to become competitive within Ulster and give promotion from Div 3 a shot, lovely time for him to take over.

Will the sham in the leggings who gave it big licks in the interview show up? They jammed that club all ireland - be interesting to see how they fare.

Liam Kearns to Offaly supposedly.

That Ulster Final win is giving Mickey a lot of leeway
