GAA Rule Changes

You would say that

You’re a very dangerous man.

We should have brought in an inoffensive mark really.

There’s no pleasing everyone

The FF line can then sit right at the 45 and cover the Hb line. More or less the same effect as.long as they can come back as soon as the ball is struck.

There are 60+ puckouts in interco hurling games. A ref and two linesmen won’t be able to police it without slowing the game significantly.

This. The trials of the new rules in Hurling/Football are genuinely pathetic.

Game and tactics evolve, so the Organisation instead of embracing change, are trying to do everything they can to prevent it.

Every sport in the world brings in new rules to move with the times. Why should we be any different.

These are beyond drastic, in comparison to Soccer allowing GK kicks in their own box etc.

It’s a trial rule in a freshers competition. Drastic my hole

I sort of agree, except for the handpassing in both sports.

Pj will have it squashed gan doubt

The handpass one I definitely think is worth trying.

I can’t really see any benefits to the puckout one.

And bringing a mark into camogie on puckouts seems like a bad move too.

Definitely as the hand pass at the minute is a joke.

Good teams will adapt to the rule changes anyway.

Corner backs across the country breathing a sigh of relief with the puckout changes anyway.

Introduction of the Fluorescent Yellow/High Vis Match Sliotar for 2024

A chara,
Please note that all GAA Match Sliotar Licensees have begun the phasing-out process of the
production of white-coloured sliotars and commenced the production of Fluorescent
Yellow/High-Vis sliotars instead. It is the recommendation of the GAA’s Hurley & Sliotar
Regulation Work Group, which has been approved by Central Council, having conducted
significant research into the matter in terms of optimal performance, visibility and contrast, that
commencing on January 1st, 2024, all hurling games at all levels from Minor (U17) and above,
should use a Fluorescent Yellow/High-Vis sliotar from an official GAA Licensee.
The Hurley & Sliotar Work Group was appointed by Uachtarán CLG Larry McCarthy in 2021 to
regulate the use of sliotars and maintain the integrity of the game of hurling.
All Licensed Match Sliotar suppliers will undergo regular lab and field testing, to ensure
compliance with specifications. Additionally, all sliotar licensees will have to renew their WFSGI
Pledge with the WFSGI annually.

Games gone lads.

The full lines need to be inside the 21 as god or equivalent deity intended. It is so obvious and they’ve missed it.

The 21 so, as mentioned by appendage above. And not move out til the ball lands. The linesmen could watch it
