Is the black card in for this years Championship so?
Donegal v Tyrone could finish 11 a side if it is. Mind you so will a lot of matches.
Lads will be afraid to tackle the way the game is going.

The black card is in.
Advantage rule is in for gaelic football.
The âmarkâ in gaelic football defeated.[/quote]
im converting to a forward.
They are making a cunt of things. Ruining it for 100,000âs of club players just to combat the antics of a few inter county teams, who ironically enough will be the ones least impacted by it. By and large an intercounty team will have a decent 5/6 subs to bring in. Whereas for a lot of a club teams once they go beyond the first couple of subs they will be seriously weakening the team.
This will be used as a handy cop out for refs who are already afraid to make big calls.
They only need 2 minor rule adjustments in football
1 make the ball smaller
2 give them sticks

Rules wonât come in to effect until January 1st 2014
I agree with The Runt. I donât think thereâs anything wrong with football. And proper application of existing rules by more competent referees would make it even better.
+1 Bandage
A good rule they could bring in is, Referees with guts can fuck off and lose some weight maybe?
Eugene McGee is a fucking dinosaur.

TASE will surely be along to pull you up on the 100,000s (why the " â " too?). Very few people actually play gaelic games.

Smashing post sir.

But they realized they canât get enough competent referees so this is the next best solution. The type of people who want to be referees full time generally donât do it for the right reasOns. The system here is excellent. You start refereeing at 11-12 and once you are 18 you are constantly assessed. We get young officials all the time and they make mistakes but the respect for them is total. They get assesses at WAFL every game, the standard is high.
Glad the black card is in, it happens at all levels not just IC and itâs the same for everyone. If you have a weaker panel you are at a disadvantage anyway, that doesnât change. Coach your players to tackle better and youâll be grand.
GlAd the pick up has been kept, a unique skill we have.
+1.
The penny has only dropped this week with clubs in Limerick that they cannot use a minor (aged 18) who is on either county minor panel while still they are still involved in Munster minor championship (hurling or football) in any junior, intermediate or senior games (challenge, league or championship) in either hurling or football.
Minor footballers would play Cork in a semi on 11th May if they get over Waterford and minor hurlers will play a semi on 29th June.
If a player âwithdrawsâ from the county panel for a few weeks would they be OK to play then.
Each county managemnt submits a list of 24 names to the county board on the first of each month. Players on this list are ineligable for that month
I was under the impression they were ok to play championship, just inelligible for league and challenges
Limkerick Minor hurlers have no match in May. I must get on to the management and get them to nobble the opposition for the month. A couple of clubs would struggle without a few good minors.
Thats my understanding of it too.
However, does anyone know if it applies to the code they are playing. ie if they are on the county hurling panel, does it preclude them from playing club hurling only and that they can play club football?
That is correct. Its a good rule. No need for these young lads to be playing meaningless adult games at this time of year
That is the opinion we got back last night. But still waiting for a firm clarification
