RTE couldnât even be arsed televising Cork v Tipperary. Itâs behind the paywall.
In fairness to RTE they do have their priorities right. Four hours live coverage tomorrow of the Coronation of King Charles.

Anniversary of the execution of the 1916 leaders and RTE mark the occasion with four hour coverage of the coronation of an English wanker and expect people to pay to watch the national game.
They died in vain, the Irish donât deserve freedom.
There are actually six Munster Championship games on RTĂ this year, after this weekend fellas wonât have to endure hooking up the GAAGo much more.
What has Gaa Go got to do with the split season?
The GAA will find a problem for every solution, Hurling is fucked, Waterford and Wexford are gone, Limerick will win the All Ireland and you have about 3 or 4 more competitive counties coming behind them and thats it
GAAGO only came into existence because Sky or any other broadcaster wouldnât pay up.
Why wouldnt they pay up?
Read John Fogarty in Examiner last week mate. Contary to all the rubbish on here, Sky wanted a new deal with more games but Gaa turned them down. Sky did make an offer
That is the Wexford county boards fault, no one else. Cork championshipâs run perfectly around each other.
It didnât meet the GAAâs evaluation.
But you said Sky didnt make an offer. They sure did even wanted league games. Gaa can make more money with Gaa Go.
I didnât say they made no offer.
I said they werent offering to pay what the GAA thought they should.
GAAGO is inextricably linked to the split season.
If youâre running off a split season mini blitz provincial championship in April and the first few weeks in May, thereâs a high probability of clashing with a major Royal Family event. The nuptials of The Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince Henry and Miss Markle and the Death of the Duke of Edinburgh have all occurred in or around that timeframe.
An unseasonal championship clash of Cork v Tipperary on the first Saturday in May loses out hands down for RTE to a Royal Coronation.
Paddy will be lapping up the Coronation tomorrow.
No point trying to have a reasoned debate with the absolute muppets who occupy this thread.
You can finally park your Currie Cup/AI hurling QF fixture clash from 2022 now.
Thatâs capitalism for ya mate.
Itâs the only game in town tomorrow.
Agreed mate. A lot of counties Clare for example didnt start club championship under the old system until county teams had exited the championship. No change for those counties. Do they want club championship in April?
The split season zealots would argue that under the old format the 1997 All-Ireland football semi-final between Mayo and Offaly on August 31st of that year was completely overshadowed by the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, and had the All-Ireland football final been on the traditional third Sunday in September last year it would been completely overshadowed by the death and impending funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. They probably have a good point there but itâs about the only one they have.
Skyâs priority is soccer. For example their record deal with EFL today. GAA was always a filler. They showed every game on Sky Sports Mix for years they had such little interest.
