Some people arenât happy unless theyâre complaining unfortunately.
That would make sense.
The GAA did make some noises about it i think at some point but the narrative its on the TVâs in every hospital and nursing home in the country is not correct.
Not at all. Sounds like from what heâs saying is the county board can nominate a few. Thereâs loads of them, surely can give it to more than one?
My understanding is that they have multiple passes to give out, or that was the original arrangement at least
Gaa being stingey.
Call them out on it so?
Wasnât Liam Griffin one of the masterminds of this split season shambles?
Think so. Wasnât he on that club association or whatever it was called? Doubt he thought Wexford would go with their own twist on the split season though by adopting a clay court style 6-week club hurling season thatâs going to all but end hurling in the county in the next 4 years.
They canât give it to all of them for free cause youâd have lads checking themselves in so they could watch the match
Sharkeyâs Chipper will be on Wexford Hurlings gravestone.
Sharkeys chipper wouldnât look as nice if Wexford played their championship like everyone else and knockout stages in September & October.
Ye touched the sky in 96, you witnessed it I hope just keep that memory alive as ye slip away from being a hurling county
Can safely say the hurling football week on week off will be back in 2024 in Wexford. Bookmark that if yaâs want.
Why dont they run off the football first and the hurling second. Make way more sense surely?
Clubs fully focus on football now when hurling is over, if it was football 1st would be disaster as alot of clubs would keep training for hurling during football championship. 3 grades of football in Wexford last year were won by hurling clubs with little regard for football.
The sentiment is good but nuts to me when hurling is the top code. Should be playing hurling championship in September.
Personally i think alternating weekends is the way to go like most counties
Not a disaster.
Hi Guys
Itâs my understanding that the clubs in Wexford voted for this split season, not the county board.
Anecdotally the players like the split season as it allows them to concentrate on one sport rather than the nonsense of flipping between sports each week.
Wexfordâs problem is not the split season but rather the mentality that by treating 2 sports equally with the same coaching and playing base that we will somehow reach elite standard at either.
And whatâs happening as far as I can see is that clubs are going flat out hurling from when they go back till the championship ends so in actual fact players are getting more hurling not less.
The volume of football is definitely less than pre split season.
But as many posters have said, the players are the least important element.
