Nobody’s paying thousands for a J1 to go on the lash.Theyre just going over on the 90 day visa waiver.Theyll all be back for the club championship.

Yep they get a holiday visa.

Two things are going to happen for the actual club player.

They’ll go on their j1 and move on from taking club gaa seriously. You cant go off the beer for the two months and arrive back a week or so before club championship begins and expect to be a part of it. Well you shouldn’t anyway.

The absolute morons who came up with this stupid idea will guilt a few lads into not going on at all.

When should club championship be so mate?

Surely players are conflicted going into matches? If they lose a shed load of money for playing in America. Doubt the Cork players were overly upset getting beat by Limerick.

90 days and Cork players will miss championship.

I was talking to the father of one of the younger Waterford senior hurlers at an underage match the other night. He was saying the young fellow was off to the States a few days after Waterford wrapped up their Championship campaign in mid May. The senior club championship which begins at the end of July (after an 11 week lay off from Waterford exiting the hurling championship in mid May) has a round robin stage across most of the month of August which will see all 12 of the 12 teams qualify from the group stages. It’s the same format in intermediate and junior with nobody eliminated in group stages. So essentially it’s late August before there’s any meaningful club games with anything at stage so young fellows have just gone abroad en masse for the summer and will be back late August. Same as it always was really at club level, late August before any meaningful club action gets going.

Disgrace having these 2 games up against the start of the Russian civil war.

Fergall slips up again

I apologise to Fergal and Alan. The Russian Civil War has been just added to the gaago package.

The last time there was a proper Civil War in Russia in 1917, Dublin won the Hurling All Ireland.

They don’t have to stay for the 90 .The Chicago/Boston/San Fran “hurling championship” could be played off over 1 weekend

The three football games today might as well not have taken place as far as public interest was concerned. They were in some bizarre twilight zone.

+1. I don’t think I’ve mentioned this before but I simply can’t get my head around it.

That’s zero to do with format and 100pc to do with what channel they were shown on.

I predicted this during the week and was lambasted

How many teams in those championship’s?

Think Boston is 4
