From I can see the only people that enjoy the split season are that 35-45 age bracket with young kids who are recently retired or are just playing a bit of junior b.
They donât fancy training in Jan, Feb or march.
Their wifeâs donât let them out for a drink so a million inter county games suits them because they get a free pass from the wife for them and they donât have any training to attend mid week.
They can get their summer holidays out of the way before the club season gets under way in august.
Iâve never been so disillusioned with the whole thing.
What Is even the point of the last seven months? A complete and utter waste of time and resources.
When you see erstehile GAA men like @balbec and @Bandage getting more worked up over the cricket than the All Ireland QFs even the split season zealots must know the jig is up
The ECB put cricket behind a paywall but at least all the big games are actually on television, not stuck on some shitty app. Imagine Wimbledon sticking 2 of the menâs singles quarter finals on an app & not televising them. Itâs a complete shambles. Thereâll be muldoon children who couldnât access yesterdayâs games who simply wouldnât have been arsed watching today as a result. I donât think Iâve ever seen an organisation so comprehensively sabotage their own product. Itâs baffling.
Took the dog for a walk during Cork and Derry yesterday. Mind numbing stuff. I could see why people would like to see the hurling season extended but the sooner the football championship ends the better. What are teams doing since November? Obviously not doing any shooting drills.
