Gaa split season, killing Meath football since 2011

Whats the reasoning behind not using Saturday nights or even Friday nights a bit more?? Surely it’s essential to use the whole weekend if there is very condensed championship

Friday nights are for club matches and activity

Players have to work on a Friday. They brought in a Friday night qualifier back around 2013 between Laois and Carlow and it caused a bit of controversy at the time. There was a Thursday night qualifier between Limerick and Offaly in the hurling for some reason in the 00’s too.

Rubby and gareth brooks, the two most popular events in the home of the gaa. Put a fork in this and go back to the way it was, a summer hobby

Can you imagine that Meath chose to play in Croke Park?

And to think in the mid 00’s we had games between Laois, Meath, Kildare and Westmeath selling it out. What they did to football in Leinster when they flooded Dublin with money will never be forgotten

Hurling is in dire straights bar Limerick, Clare and possibly cork.

It’s crazy what people are letting unfold.

Tipp have been training since November?

They didn’t even look that fit. The basic skills were beyond them,

100s of thousands spent on the tipp senior team no doubt.

It simply can’t go on.

Also when tipp, cork and Kilkenny are this bad and they have been since about 2015.

17 Galway v Waterford

Change format

It’s Limerick

In 19 but for the round robin it should have been Wexford.

Possibly Clare sneak one in the old Knock out system.

Instead you’ve the most dominant Limerick team of all time laying waste to everyone in what could be a similar era to the 90s.

I’d be mildly surprised if Dublin, offsly, Wexford, Galway, Waterford and Antrim win one all Ireland between them in the next 20 years.

Proud GGA backers PwC had their Alumni Family Day in Emerald Park yesterday. A firm calendar favourite on the last Sunday of April & they’ve rightly refused to move it to avoid a clash with the GGA championship since this condensed monstrosity was introduced. Spotted & chatted to loads of ex COUNTY MEN & WOMEN there yesterday who would never usually miss a championship game. But people aren’t changing their well established traditions like watching the EPL on telly or going to the former Tayto Park to prioritise this round robin nonsense.

Tipp have been the second most successful county since 2015

If Waterford beat Tipp on Saturday night, the much vaunted Munster ROUND ROBIN is effectively over by Game 5.

Is that in thurles?

Walsh Park.

Funnily enough if Limerick beat Cork, then Cork would be out coming to Thurles for Tipp’s third game and if Tipp win that, they’d have Clare on head to head if they beat them on the final day in Thurles.

Its a totally flawed system really. Limerick will probably be already qualified for a Munster Final by the time they play Waterford and will probably rest players which could implicate other teams.

Cork will be hard enough for Limerick yet.

They might, but they’ve a habit of playing well in these games without winning.

Like yesterday was a game they had to drive on and win but they went into their shells.

Are cork definitely out if they lose to limerick? I’m supposed to be bring my aul lad to cork tipp in thurles but he won’t want to go if it’s a dead rubber

If Waterford and Tipp draw and Limerick beat Cork, Cork are mathematically out.

If Waterford beat Tipp and Limerick beat Cork - Cork could theoretically get a three way tie on 2 points with Tipp and Clare (Clare would have to lose to Waterford and Tipp)

If Tipp beat Waterford and Limerick beat Cork - Cork would have a chance of a three way tie on 2 points with Waterford and Tipp (If Clare and Limerick both beat Waterford and Cork and Clare both beat Tipp).

Some joke Wexford and co are out again. 3 games in 13 days to decide their year.

It’s simply outrageous.

Sure you want to them to have one game in one day to decide their season dont you
