RIP
RIP to John.Hes brought some great days to Leitrim football.Days weāll probably never see again.Declan Darcy and Tom Gannon lifting the Nestor Cup in 94 will forever be one of Leitrim Gaa greatest moments thanks to JOM.
Desperately sad news to hear. He gave us so many great days that will live on forever for anyone of a Galway hue.
RIP to the great man.
He was a lovely fella,I would regularly see him at Leitrim matches.Myself and the young lad met him as we were walking into Salthill before we played Galway a couple of years ago,he stopped to chat us for a few minutes about all things Leitrim and how coach Moran was going and what club we were from etc.So we headed for the stand the young lad says to me āhow does that Galway man know so much about Leitrim footballā.I tell you on the way home says I.
A gentleman and a people management genius. A young man. RIP
Some of the very best days of my life were those.
Bed of heaven to him.
Iām sick.
That and being a blueshirt
There seemed to be a lot of Mayo folk annoyed with him for last last spell in charge. It was around the time when he was running for the Dail first and saw the Mayo manager as a means to an end. He blood fuck all new players and departed following a qualifier defeat to Longford.
RTE televising A Year 'til Sunday some time this week according to Liam Sheedy.
Ja with his father is an amazing piece in that documentary
He was on the maroon and white pod previewing the Connacht final. Seemed in fine fettle. Diplomatic as always when asked who heād like to see win. Said he couldnt lose regardless of who won.
RIP John and thanks for some of the greatest days of our lives
How the fuck did I miss this??? What a man. God rest him.
I couldnāt believe it when @Fat_Pox mentioned it to me on the way into the match today, his achievement with Leitrim surpasses the AI wins for GY, as mentioned above that Comer doc stands with any other sports ones, a classic.
Awful news to hear before the game today, crowd seemed a bit shocked by it when his pic came up on the big screen. RIP.
He managed Salthill Knocknacarra last year so must have been a short enough illness.
Always came across well and that 98 Documentary is absolutely class.
Pity he got Mayo when they were in between teams from 2007-2010.
RIP
Another week, another dethroning of All-Ireland football champions Dublin by Galway.
Dublin paid heavily in karma for that hurling victory in Salthill.
Christ, Iām gone againā¦
