Tipp lads may confirm but I believe that McGrath played midfield predominately for the minors and U21s. I think he reads the game phenomenally well and that midfield would bring out the very best in his talents.
No, the word horrendous is in common use for some time now buddy.
Good comeback mate:clap:
A few quick updates…
Tannian never played anywhere near CB today, he was mostly wing back and a times corner back. He stuck to Wally Walsh all day and Walsh was substituted. He is a beast and he is all that is right about Galway hurling when he gets involved like he did today, he really irks them up on Noreside.
Callanan is no longer the best goalie in the country.
@Turenne Johnny Glynn Junior C… For your repentance I want you to tip the porter well at he 3 hour motel you’ll be using later on.
Ahh yes, Being honest I considered skipping traffic with 10 minutes to go and was nearly ready for road… Then I could see that at least Canning our captain was still roaring at lads and still up for it. So I stayed.
Who knows where we can go from here. There is no law, no book or no reference that can give you any sort of projections for what Galway will do. Its like drinking Poteen at a party… it could be your best night ever or you could wake up in a with an IV drip welded to you.
Happy Days.
Thats TFK in a nutshell right there
he’d hit 5 lovely balls while Richie Hogan would be winning the match for KK
We wont know till he is played there;)
Noel McGrath is the most overrated hurler in Ireland
He did alright but was a different player those days. Used to be very vocal and effective.
He would get eaten alive at senior intercounty though. Really doesn’t have the stomach for it. Has to be played in a free role or else on the bench.
Hes one of the most skillful though and he can score. He looks like hes no interest in a fight now but wasn’t always like that if he was a leader before. Surely someone can bring it out of him again. Dont get me wrong some lads never have it in them and no amount of skill saves them. But he did it before.
Paul Murphy is a hopeless defender. Great man to clear ball, but not a defender.
He is just really slow and its just really annoying to watch him for Loughmore because he is just so good. He shouldn’t be on the Tipp team if it was picked on form but I’d say he’s never even been taken off
Ah come on @Fagan ODowd, cop yourself on
Ok. Look at how he defended the high ball against Glynn, every time including the catch Glynn took the high ball over his head on the last puck out.
Great game, should have closed it out but just shows how weak we are in defence. Our midfield went out of it in the last ten minutes. Richie Hogan had a great game but faded.
But Galway came back to their credit and fair dues to them. I think we have enough to win it but I’m sure the tribesmen will think the same.
Ryan rode Galway I thought but we might get fennelly back for next week to balance off if Barry Kelly gets the game.
All to play for.
Hurling won today. It was scrappy but exciting.
I agree but how tall is Glynn where Murphy is not a tall man. Murphy is class, le fin
Size has nothing to do with it. JJ was never beaten by a taller man.

With this and his unfortunate gaffe about tannian playing centre back its been a tough few hours for @croppy_boy

Proper championship hurling I thought. Good hard stuff the whole way through.
True, Tommy too. Murphy is still a great defender.
So he’s a great defender as long as you don’t put a tall man on him?
