Are we just going up for the day out? I think Iâll make a weekend out of it as we wonât have the expense of an all Ireland final this year
Tbh, Iâm travelling with no expectations bar enjoying a few Hints with mates & @Mullach_Ide in our Capital city.
A complete record of all provincial champions (excluding Cody-era Kilkenny) who have gone straight into an All-Ireland semi-final since 1997:

1998 - Clare - 3 weeks - drew but ultimately won and then lost
1998 - Kilkenny - 6 weeks - won by 1
1999 - Cork - 5 weeks - won by 3
2000 - Cork - 5 weeks - lost by 4
2001 - Tipperary - 6 weeks - drew, won replay by 11
2002 - Waterford - 6 weeks - lost by 3
2003 - Cork - 6 weeks - drew, won replay by 13
2004 - Waterford - 6 weeks - lost by 3

2009 - Tipperary - 5 weeks - won by 24
2010 - Waterford - 4 weeks - lost by 7

2015 - Tipperary - 5 weeks - lost by 1
2016 - Tipperary - 5 weeks - won by 2
7 wins, 3 draws*, 12 losses.
*Of those 3 draws, 2 resulted in replay wins, 1 was a replay loss.
Since the introduction of the full back door system in 2002, the record is 4 wins, 1 draw, 10 losses.
All thatâs needed now is a Wexford ref (James Owens should fit the bill there) and Johnny Glynn getting spotted by an immigration official.
Some auld lad in a pair of slacks, short sleeve shirt and Waterford baseball cap approached James Owens for a chat on the way back into town from PĂĄirc Ui Chaoimh Nua yesterday*. James was dressed casually, sporting a white Wexford GAA polo shirt and a pair of fashionable shorts.
âYouâre the referee, arenât ya?â
âI am yeah.â
âFair play. Youâve done some big gamesâŚâ
âI did an All Ireland final alright.â
âDid you play much yourself?â
âAh I played a bit.â
âWell you wouldnât think it by the way you refereeâŚâ
And off he went.
*This did happen.
I spotted Owens myself on Saturday, he seemed in good spirits
Harmless effort. Up your game pal.
That was a great tackle. It won ye the AI.
@Brimmer_Bradley skipping the country for this one. Canât even face the possibility of another loss to us, the cowardly cunt.
Booking holidays around semi-final time ---- Almost up there with his faux pas a few weeks back that GAA games are 45 mins a half. If he wasnât such a staunch GAA man youâd nearly think he was a spoofer.
Lads the four of ye ( check the likes) are following me around the place since early morning and Iâm not even engaging with ye.
Pace yerselves or yeâll combust into a big ball of maroon flame and hatred before the teams are even named.
Ignore us Brimmer, weâre just giddy.
Surprised he didnât set Bobby on him.
Tipp will win. Galway will crash and burn in the hype. As usual.
