Galway v Tipperary - All Ireland Senior Hurling Semi-Final 2017

Don’t think so .

Fuck. It’ll probably be Bubbles or his cousin Mouse so

It will be a very close game, I can’t see either team winning it handy. Tipperary might shore up their defence but it won’t be enough… however, they’ll put up a decent tally on Galway also. Galway just for me.

Tipp have the best full forward line in the country, Galway have the best front 6. Galway have plenty of pace up front and have 6 forwards in the kilkenny style, can win ball and take scores. Barry was never great and is very uncomfortable at corner back. Expect the Galway full forward line to destroy all three of the tipp full back line. Galway much stronger at midfield.

Tipp’s strength has been their half back and full forward lines. Traditional hurling philosophy of get your beat players in those two lines and move the ball as fast as possible from the first to the latter. Tipp HB line used to physically dominating, which they won’t do against Galway - supply lines cut for Callanan.

Tipp full forward line will still do damage but it just won’t be enough.

Tipp’s fat keeper will have a sore back from picking the ball out of the net.

Were you there in 2015?

Yes. And I was there in 2010. And I’ll be there Sunday

Kilkenny in 2012, pal.

No they don’t. Conor Whelan is reasonably quick. So is Jason Flynn but he is completely out of form. The rest of the Galway forwards are either slow or stopped. Tipp forwards way more dangerous.

That’s fine, but is everyone forgetting that it has been highballs in that have caused Tipp most problems? You don’t need to be quick for that… Shane O Donnell plucking ball out of the sky.

I do expect a seriously fired up Tipp to emerge Sunday… How long it lasts is the question.

Jaysus, Kilkenny were still favourites going into that. Despite losing Leinster. We got some trimming that day

Tipp forwards have more natural skills but the Tipp attacks lacks pace . The Galway forward line is big and has a bit of pace but does not have the guile as a unit the Tipp’s has . That said they are fine hurlers in The main although I am not sure about Joseph Cooney .

If David Burke plays well then I think Galway win . Neither defence is brilliant but I think Galway’s better and they have a better “culbaire” .

Tipp’s backs will be set up different to the last few games but there will be just one personnel change .

Wexford were favourites in 1997.

The real answer to your question is Offaly in 1999 who were the only All-Ireland champions in the back door era who were widely expected to lose a semi-final.

Mouse for Barry/Hamill?

Offaly were rode bareback by ref that day .

Who is “Mouse”

Joe O Dwyer

I am not sure about Joseph Canning.
