Yes but teams in Munster and Leinster had to win all their provincial games to win an All Ireland. So they had to win more than two games to win an All Ireland. Even Limerick would have won about 5 more All Irelands if they were allowed the same advantage
Encyclopedic!
Thatâs fine, but thatâs two separate competitions - All teams back then only had to win two games to win the AI competition.
Teams only played two games in the All Ireland series, yes mate. I think youâll find I never said otherwise
As @carryharry said, there are no soft all irelands. If there were, then we could say something like Kilkennyâs win in 08 was as soft as it gets.
Since the back door/qualifiers have come in, any all ireland is actually harder to win, as you donât necessarily get the chance to play cannon fodder like the Ulster or Connacht champions in a semi any more
So Galway were the exact same as every one else and were probably disadvantaged as they didnât get a warm up with a provincial tournament before the All Ireland comp kicked off - ergo, their AIs were harder won.
Door to door in 2hr 15mins.
Galway by 6 in one of the most devastating semi final performances in recent memory.
Signing in from Thurles train station. The flags and bunting are out lads but itâs a restrained effort befitting an all Ireland semi
I can rest easy now. Much appreciated sir.
I spotted the Tipp team in Moranâs last night getting fitted for suits for the final
Fake news. Theyâre using last yearâs suits. Funds are tight
They are using the money they saved by sending their S&C guy to Galway
Fake News. Darren Gleeson is treating the boys to new ones.
Incorrect. The Leinster and Munster teams had to win 2/3 games to get as far as Galway did
They were completely different competitions - Multiple posters were talking about the All Ireland competition. - Every team had to win 2 games to win the All Ireland competition.
Incorrect, all Munster and Leinster had to win 4/5 games to win the All Ireland
So youâre saying they were given two trophies for winning the one competition? One for reaching halfway and the other for going all the way
Ken Hogan gave a real dose of comeuppance to Ger Gilroy last night calling him Eoin on 3 occasions.
Sounds like there was a few barneys has on Grand Canaria back in the late 80s when Galway and Tipp both ended up on the same island.
