Galway Vs Tipperary 2014

Well I pinged you asking

Well I pinged you asking for an escort but was fully mugged off

I have a city slant on things. Lord if I was home I would bring the kids to every friendly, league and proper match across the country. Ye boys don’t know how lucky ye are.
Maher & Woodlock. Looks very lightweight & means you are looking for a lot of Hurling from young Maher. I doubt that pairing will start there to be honest, surely Gar Ryan will go midfield. In fact the more I look at that team, I reckon the will be a good few positional switches.

Harsh call on O’Meara, is he carrying a knock? According to The Nationalist Newspaper O’Mahony was struggling a back injury too.

Noel McGrath needs a massive game Saturday, he needs to stamp his authority on a fame like we know he can.
tell us about Ronan Maher Harry. where is he after bolting from?

Pauric’s brother

My bad lad, missed this.

Send me a PM.

U16, Minor & U21 teams.
Can’t tell you a whole pile as Mid Tipp hurling is not my area. They say in Thurles he is a better all round hurler than Pauric but time will tell.
Played more in the back line at U21 level so picking him at midfield is a con job I think.

Its incredible what a couple of good years can do for a player. Noel McGrath is one of those lads that is apparently undroppable.

I’m too busy sulking. :-). It was a bit too short notice, I thought it was another week. I’ve promised a few lads we’d go to a game again. Brought a few to croker the past couple of years to a semi and they absolutely loved it though the games weren’t great.
Tipp will need to be on their toes for this. I reckon it will be a classic. I’m going out on the bike on Saturday with a lad I used hurl with over here. He used mooch about on a battered old racer, and one Sunday I asked if he’d like to come out into the hills with the lads I cycle with. He turned up in Celtic shorts, and ahurlingtop and absolutely creamed us. The lads still laugh about it. He came out a few times after, and by the end it was ridiculous. I’d be flat out going up a 12% climb barely able to breath and he would be still in the big ring, with one hand on the bars chatting away.
He moved to London to work after, and ended up as a plant rep in Tanzania, sierra leone, and Siberia, he told me one week he went from plus thirty to minus twenty degrees. They obviously gave the new lad the war torn areas, but he loved/loves, it, and we’ve always stayed in touch. Anyway,a couple of years ago he was cycling down in Devon, and got hit by a car from behind which the gards reckoonnwasdoing sixty miles an hour. Your man was texting and drove into the back of him. He broke his arm, pelvis, leg, ribs and neck. Was helicoptered off and in ICU for ages and hospital for months. Had a big head frame scaffold on for months, but he’s worked his way back, and is back working. He contacted me in the week, and is coming up tonight to go out on the bike tomorrow. I can’t wait. Swimming in the morning, bike in the afternoon. Porter and hurling in the evening. :-))).
:pint:
Last week I brought a girl out who is six foot one, used row for Britain and has the body of a goddess. She kicked all our arses as well (she’s now on a proper girls racing team). The lads all wondered how I could tolerate getting beaten by a girl and a cripple in the same calendar week.

when you think of how people used to talk about him and what a genius he was he has really gone back…hopefully he turns it round …

Agree, but hopefully not on Saturday.

Reasonably happy with that Tipp team. Ronan Maher is and will be a great hurler but throwing him in at midfield without any real experience is a huge gamble from O’Shea. He won’t turn 19 until Oct/Nov. I’m sure Andy Smith will try and intimidate him as much as possible. Big boost having Woodlock in beside him though.

Niall O’Meara unlucky to lose out for Lar.

In O’Shea we trust:clap:

i saw ronan maher do a great job on niall o’meara in last years u21a county final. he’s a great bit of stuff and i’m delighted he’s getting the start.

Ya he will be a massive player for Tipp in the next 10 years. Most of his hurling has been in defence though.

How many serious* senior games has he played for Sars? 2-3?

*Handing out pastings in Roinn 2 don’t count.

I remember him coming on in a game for Thurles a few years ago and playing very well, it could have been a Munster final I’d say. It strikes me as odd that he is being played midfield,I think he still plays in the backs for Sars and midfield isn’t an easy position to play

I like that team. We’ll beat them.

I dont share your positive vibes pal. Id like to see niall burke there hes a scorer, that full forward line is lightweight. Seems like theyve gone with lads (mannion, glynn) who did well in the league game against them but tipp will be a different animal. In salthill id give us a good chance but down there. They better put up a fight anyway.

Can any tipp posters recommend a place in thurles to sit in comfort watching the clare and then Argentina games beforehand, with excellent yet affordable food?

The Watermill beside Lar Na Pairc does decent grub & there will be TV’s showing the soccer & Hurling.

Pure bullshit that David Burke has been picked again, he hasn’t played a good game for Galway in nearly 2 years. Cunninghams loyalty to his own clubman is beyond a joke at this stage.
